The California Highway Curse

Timothy Birdnow

The interesting point about this is most of 'em got their licenses from California.

California's policies are interfering with interstate commerce.

HOLY F'CK ????

Oklahoma State Police along with ICE arrested (125) Truck drivers here illegally, who got their licenses issued from (CA)@SecDuffy pulled $40M in federal funding for (CA) there's (19) other states doing this. I'm a Truck driver in (IL) & it's happening here too pic.twitter.com/7L6sMgnvo2
— @Chicago1Ray ???????? (@Chicago1Ray)October 20, 2025

When I was renewing my driver's license the other day a little old lady came in and was denied because she failed the eye test. Maybe she should change her name to Rosa Hernandez or something and apply for a license in California or Illinois,

Judge to Issue Arbitrary and Capricious Order

Timothy Birdnow

What didn't this Clinton-appointed judge not get about the Suprme Court ruling saying lower courts couldn't issue nationwide injunctions?

Clinton-Appointed Federal Judge Blocks Push to Remove Gender Brainwashing From Sex Ed Curricula

Yes, she has declared she is going to issue an injunction restoring federal funding to states that promote transgenderism in the schools. And not just in her own Oregon district.

According to the Epoch Times article:

U.S. District Judge Ann Aiken, based in Eugene, made the comments in reference to a lawsuit filed by 16 states, including Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Washington, and Wisconsin, as well as the District of Columbia. The states of Oregon, Washington, and Minnesota are leading the group.

So why is Oregon "leading the group" and why was it filed there? Because they knew they would get this judge, or a similar judge, who would put ideology ahead of the law.

And this was filed as a class-action to circumvent the Supreme Court's order about not issuing nationwide injunctions. States should not be able to participate in class action suits; they should each have to follow the regular procedure and file in their own jurisdictions. This is just a con to circumvent the SCOTUS ruling.

The Department of Health and Human Services had issued warnings to multiple states that their PREP grants would be cut off if they persisted in promoting transitioning of children. PREP stands for Personal Responsibility Education Program . Also, Title V Sexual Risk Avoidance Education programs bans this form of child abuse.

So yet another pet Democrat judge plans on wading in where angels fear to tread and risk the inevitable spanking from the Supreme Court to slow down the implementation of the Trump agenda, an agenda that was eagerly adopted by the American People.

Collectively, all these states stood to lose a paltry $35 million in federal grant money, yet they are probably going to waste more taxpayer dollars on fighting the order than what they would receive from the grants. Why? Because they are absolutely desperate to stop Trump wherever he takes any action and they are desperate to keep the trannie juggernaut rolling. It's about fa more than the money. It's about trying to turn the tide and about compelling the American People to fund the insane schemes the Left hatches up and implements in states they control.

The article continues:

Attorneys for the states argued that the administration’s requirements contradict the statutory frameworks set up by Congress for these programs and infringe lawmakers’ authority over federal spending, thus violating the U.S. Constitution.

They further asserted that the policy is an "arbitrary and capricious” exercise of power under the Administrative Procedure Act, since it allegedly excludes certain categories of students from educational materials.

Who is exercising "arbitrary and capricious power" in this instance? The guys trying to stop the waste of taxpayer money for things that the majority of Americans do not want or the people who demand to be paid for child abuse and their pet psycho-sexual theories?

And what of this "excludes certain categories of students" business? We do that all the time. Why, pray tell, aren't the children of Klansmen or Nazis not given educational material stating Jews and Blacks ae inherently inferior? Would that be acceptable to these people? Of course not, nor should it be. Yet we can tell a child he's not really a boy and steer him towards a life-altering action while he's not old enough to make such decisions and yet that is not just o.k. it's a civil right, somehow. Well, why isn't being a Nazi or a Klansman a civil right?

Beecause neither are and we all know it.

This judge didn't even bother to hold a formal hearing, choosing to instead take the case pleas over the phone. In other words, she had no intention of wasting time on a foregone conclusion.

She argued this is akin to "separate but equal" in the schools prior to Brown V. the Board of Education. But it is not even remotely similar and she knows it. Separate but Equal was not equal and was never intended to be equal, and it was about including STUDENTS. This is about educrats imposing their own worldview on Children via curriculum.

And if you want to argue about that let me point to the case of Scopes in the famous Monkey Trial. Most people think Scopes won because "inherit the Wind", a pure propaganda piece, suggested he did. But he actually lost, but wasn't fined but a dollar. Still, he lost. William Jennings Bryan argued the case by claiming the PEOPLE of the state had the right to set the curriculum since they were the ones paying for it and it was their children. The infamous scene where Clarence Darow put the fictitious pseudo-Bryan on the stand and asked him a bunch of questions which he couldn't answer and he started spouting "I beleeeevveee in GAWDddd" never happened. Scopes set a precedent in many ways.

Educatrats and even state legislators do not have unlimited authority to set the curriculum. And they most certainly do not have the right to reach into the pockets of people in other states.

Trump's Administration never said they couldn't promote transgenderism if they chose, just that Missouri or Texas or Florida wasn't going to be required to underwrite that teaching.

That is so very Leftist; spit in the faces of the citizenry and make them pay for the spit.

I suspect this ruling will be overturned fairly easily, but it's purpose is to simply slow down the Trump team and to tie them up with useless fights when they could be doing so many other, more important things. And if Trump should cave then they own him.

And maybe SCOTUS won't want to get into this particular fight? There is a good chance of that.

Breakfast Eggstinguished

Timothy Birdnow

There will be egg on their faces. I'm not yoking around!

The FDA is recalling 6.7 million eggs that it claims are tainted. 'Taint that a thing! That's 522,915 dozen eggs, or about a million plus Egg McMuffins from MacDonalds. The recall is class I, meaning these eggs are very dangerous. (And here I thought the only egg we had to worry about was the one laid by No Kings...)

This means we'll likely see another big spike in egg prices.

The recall specified the Black Sheep Egg Company-branded Free Range Large Grade A Brown Eggs with best by dates of Aug. 22, 2025, to Oct. 31, 2025, on the side of the carton, according to the FDA. These eggs are sold all over ARkansas and Missouri, and are exported around the country.

The recall also includes Free Range Grade A Large Brown Eggs, Free Range Grade AA Large Brown Eggs, Free Range Grade AA Medium Brown Eggs, Free Range Grade AA Large White Eggs, and Free Range Grade AA Medium White Eggs.

While I never buy free range eggs (this is a gimmick to get the moonbats to purchase) the fact remains these eggs are probably in products I do consume, or may be anyway.

Too bad we weren't exporting them to China.Considering all the bad stuff they have exported here over the years we owe them.

At any rate this will drive the price of eggs back up - and in time for the midterm elections. It will take at least a year to get those egg prices back down.

This makes me not just a bit suspicious. The timing of this is, uh, interesting. You will notice the name of the company, which simply screams of woke. And NO illnesses were reported by the FDA as a result of these eggs, which makes me suspicious as well.

Salmonella symptoms, which may present after eating the eggs, including diarrhea, fever, vomiting, dehydration, and abdominal pain. Those are also the symptoms of an average Saturday night in San Francisco, so be careful not to confuse salmonella with alcohol poisoning and gay bowel disease.

FDA spokesman Salvador Manuela warns that Symptoms generally begin between six hours and six days after exposure and last up to a week, just like after the Pride Parade, so stay vigilant.

And stay well-funded if you like your omelet or the occasional Christmas eggnog. You're going to need a bulging wallet.

"No Kings" in Australia

Timothy Birdnow

Isn't it odd that Australia had a nation-wide protest at the same time the "No Kings" protests were on in America?

Don't tell me there isn't a conspiracy afoot involving powerful and rich actors on an international scale.

So Who IS to Blame?

Timothy Birdnow..

An analyst at CNN (which hates Trump) admits the government shutdown isn't hurting the Orange Menace at all:

This shutdown is a different world for Trump than the 2018-19 shutdown. He's in a much better spot.

His net approval is up slightly during this shutdown vs. dropping during 2018-19.

Why? The % who blame him a great deal for the shutdown is down significantly now vs. 2018-19. pic.twitter.com/WHEqHaqo4M

The Cowboy Way

Timothy Birdnow

This author misses the whole point of our love affair with cowboys.

Why are you seeing cowboys everywhere?

Of course she writes for CNN so that is not a surprise.

Her argument is essentially that we love a fiction that never was, that cowboying is a dirty and thankless business. And technically she's correct. In fact the Old West cowboys were almost all kids, in their early teens. I once saw a claim the average age was fourteen for the average cowboy. There were reasons for that; often parents on hardscrabble farms couldn't feed all their kids when times grew hard and had to send the ones who were just coming of age away. Cowboying paid poorly but they would be well fed on the trail. And the kids? ANYTHING beat being stuck in a one-horse town and working sun to sun in the fields! It's the same reason most outlaws/criminals came from the farms in the old days. Boredom is a powerful motivator.

Saying the Quiet Part Out Loud

Timothy Birdnow

He just said the quiet part out loud. Academia has always blackballed conservatives, which is why my brother never got a tenure track position despite multiple publications and high marks from his students.

https://jonathanturley.org/2025/10/14/aaup-publication-makes-case-against-intellectual-diversity/

Leftists worm their way into positions of authority as faculty chair or deans or presidents and then systematically purge conservatives from campus. The Left HATES open and fair debate on any issue because they will lose and they know it.

Cowards.

And those already hired face endless persecution to force them to seek employment elsewhere if they have tenure, and they simply make up lies about poor performance to make a case to fire them if they are not tenured.

The Left is not merely wrong but evil. Always remember that.

About those "No Kings" Protests

Timothy Birdnow

A lucid discussion about No Kings and Shutdowns by three clever birds here in the Aviary:

Bill H. points out:

It is claimed that 7 million people attended these protests, which amounts to about 2% of the population. I have to say that I do not find 2% to be particularly impressive.

Dana Mathewson adds:

I wonder if it's 7 million total attendance, or 7 million estimated attendance based on the published pictures, which are mostly showing just concentrated areas of crowds, while much of the remaining area is sparsely populated.

Tim replies:

I hear ya Bill!

Good point Dana; there is no official counter. In fact the media was reporting this number which came from the organizers of the protest, according to NBC. I have no doubt it is WAY too large.

Chuck U. and company are digging in their heels on this shutdown and the Democrats want to frighten the little bunny rabbits in the GOP with this big protest; they know they'll believe the numbers and flee from Trump and the MAGA types.

Make no mistake; the shutdown is about more than just Schumer's fear of AOC. He knows that the GOP has always taken the blame IN MEDIA POLLING and that the GOP was utterly destroyed by the shutdown during the Clinton years; in fact, it ended the Contract with America. Schumer wants to do this again, get the GOP to surrender and then they are his bitches for a generation. This protest was about more than the shutdown of course but the shutdown is a vehicle to get the Democrats out of the penalty box and so are these inflated numbers.

Bill, as you say, it's just 2% and if it was really a mass movement why did Trump win in the first place? Why are his n umbers higher than most Presidents at this time in their presidency?

This thing was a giant gaslight, I believe.

Didn't Joe Biden "win" with about seven million phantom votes in 2020, votes which disappeared in the '24 election?I suspect many of these protesters were the "folks" who voted for Biden in '20 who were so difficult to trace.

BTW Hannity read an advertisement to get people to come to the protests and they were offering a luxury bus with food and no doubt booze to take people there. There was probably a stipend too; we need to find out who was funding this as it was clearly not an organic thing.

New York Congressman Calls for NYPD to Arrest Ice Agents

Timothy Birdnow

There is a little thing called the Supremacy Clause, dufus!

Pandering Democrat Congressman Calls on NYPD to Arrest ICE Agents

Arresting ICE agents for doing their duty is qualitatively no different than the Democrats in South Carolina firing on Fort Sumpter in 1860.

It's insurrection and Trump would be within his legal authority to declare New York City in open insurrection and send in troops to arrest the leadership of that rebellious city.

FTA:

A Democrat New York congressman is calling on the NYPD to arrest and prosecute ICE agents who engage in "unlawful actions” during federal immigration crackdowns in the city.

In letter to NYPD commissioner Jessica Tisch, U.S. Rep. Dan Goldman rips U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Customs and Border Protection officers’ "outrageous and unlawful conduct” in cities around the country, saying they have been "violently and improperly” arresting U.S. citizens.

Goldman said with the "likely possibility” that the Department of Homeland Security will "send armies of agents into New York City for civil immigration purposes” he urged the NYPD to be "prepared to strictly enforce state and local laws in order to hold federal agents accountable for any unlawful actions they engage in, including potentially through arrest and prosecution for felony violations.”

"When immigration officials make warrantless arrests of U.S. citizens or lawful residents without reasonable suspicion to believe they have violated immigration law, they are acting outside the scope of their legal authority,” he wrote.

Goldman, a lawyer who as a House counsel participated in Donald Trump’s 2019 impeachment inquiry, cited ICE’s policy barring civil immigration enforcement authority against U.S. citizens. He said news outlets have reported that federal agents "have repeatedly detained or deported American citizens in clear violation of their constitutional rights.”

"No person, regardless of their badge, should be permitted to assault or unlawfully detain any New Yorker without facing consequences,” he wrote. "In light of this failure of federal oversight, it is the responsibility of the city to uphold the rule of law and protect the public.

Uh, WHICH U.S. CITIZENS have ICe illegally arrested and deported? Notice he can't name names, because there are none.

If NYPD starts arresting ICE agents for violating state laws while doing their duty as federal agents then that is at minimum interfering with law enforcement and is a felony. And since the people running New York would have to order this they would be guilty of a felony as well and subject to arrest and prosecution.

WE are the Forgotten Man

Timothy Birdnow

Clarice Feldman pens a terrific piece at American Thinker.

No More (Bureaucrats Who Would Be) Kings

This should fix the link.

She nails it; the would-be kings are the bureaucrats and the plutocrats and the others who have spent their lives telling Americans what to do and what they can and cannot do. Trump is the antithesis of a king; he's dismantling government power, not increasing it.

He is like the Patriots who argued for the rights of Englishmen against the power of George III and the elites in Parliament.

While Clarice largely gives a laundry list of the week's big stories She starts off correct; the royalty is on the Left, not the right. WE are the common man, the forgotten man, not they.

Liberal Tantrum

Timothy Birdnow

Jesus flipped the tables of profiteers in the Temple who were cheating people who had come to worship. This creep is simply trying to stifle free speech.

Illinois State University faculty member flips Turning Point USA tables on campus: ‘Jesus did it’

From the article in the New York Post:

The accused vandal, Derek Lopez, was caught on camera speaking to a man standing near the table — which had been set up by students in the group to promote political YouTuber and comedian Alex Stein’s Oct. 20 event at the university, according to video, local police and various X posts about the ugly incident.

"Well, you know, Jesus did it, so you know I gotta do it, right?” Lopez, 27, of El Paso, Ill. — a teacher’s assistant and graduate student at the university — tells the man before the footage shows him tossing the table over, sending pins, flyers and other items rocketing into the air.

Naturally this guy has a man-bun.

The Last Days of the Permanent Floating Riot Club

Timothy Birdnow

Indeed.

"Coup d'Flat": Billionaire-Funded 'No Kings' Color-Revolution Turns Into White Liberal Boomer Parade As Dems Become National Laughingstock

From Zerohedge:

The Democratic Party's dark-money NGO network, bankrolled by left-wing billionaires, unleashed a highly coordinated, color-revolution-style mobilization nationwide on Saturday; the same tactics U.S. intelligence agencies have used overseas for years in regime-change operations. Yet the turnout wasn't dominated by unhinged young leftists or gender-confused woke warriors, but rather by white baby-boomer liberals, a mobilization effort that NGO expert Mike Benz described as a "Coup d'f́lat."

The nation is waking up to the fact that dark-money NGO networks, including the Arabella Network, Soros Network, Gates Foundation, Ford Foundation, Tides Foundation, Rockefeller Network, Singham Network, and many others, are funneling millions of dollars into what investigative researchers Peter Schweizer and Seamus Bruner of the Government Accountability Institute call "Riot, Inc." - the permanent protest industrial complex and the engine behind "No Kings 2.0" partners and organizers. These protests are far from organic; this movement is manufactured, coordinated, and entirely artificial.

Artificial indeed and a sign of their utter desperation as the Trump Administration plans to go after them for fomenting violence and insurrection.

These are the last days of the permanent floating riot plot, methinks.

The title is from the great S-F writer Larry Niven, who wrote a short story about how criminals would use teleportation to start rioits and then profit from looting. It was appropriate here as well.

Another Assassination Plot?

Timothy Birdnow

AMDG

Looks like there is a plot afoot to assassinate President Trump - yet again.

A hunting stand was found just outside the Palm Beach Airport in line of sight of Air Force One and the President.

Secret Service strongly believe this might have been a platform to assassinate Mr. Trump.

FTA:

"Prior to the President’s return to West Palm Beach, USSS discovered what appeared to be an elevated hunting stand within sight line of the Air Force One landing zone,” FBI Director Kash Patel told Fox News Digital.

"No individuals were located at the scene. The FBI has since taken the investigatory lead, flying in resources to collect all evidence from the scene, and deploying our cell phone analytics capabilities.”

As of yet, law enforcement authorities are saying that no individual has been found associated with the stand.

You know they are going to keep attempting to kill the President as long as he lives. I fear eventually they will probably get him. The Democrats need to tone their insane rhetoric WAY down.

We all knew the Left would be very, very unpleasant in their deathroes.

The Dog Ate My Homework

Timothy Birdnow

%^&#%$^! For the second time a lengthy post I was writing about the Battle of Yorktown (today is the anniversary) was deleted by a slip of my hand on the new keyboard. Believe me, I said much worse than what is shown above!

I give up; I'm out of time. So read this much less informative post at Revolver.

One point; Cornwallis didn't choose his base poorly; he was laying a trap for Washington which would have worked had the British fleet left Halifax on time. The Admiral got sick and his replacement piddled around and the French came before the Brits arrived. Cornwallis wanted to trap Washington with gunboats up river from his position so he couldn't escape and with Cornwallis' best men marching up the peninsula. Instead Washington was marching DOWN the peninsula with Cornwallis facing French gunships.

If I have time tomorrow I'll try to thresh this out better for you; there are a lot of dots that need connecting.
