Carville predicts Trump won’t show up for CNN debate with Biden
This is 180* out of phase. Biden will use Trump's conviction as grounds to not show up for the debate.
Of course Biden may make sure Trump CAN'T show up for the debate by pressuring the court to put him in jail. Then he'll call Trump a coward for not breaking out.

Trump just got a six point bump following his conviction by a kangaroo court in the great hellhole of New York.
- L Partners used a panel of 403 likely voters to asses the impact of guilty verdict
- The results showed an improvement in Trump's favorability ratings

So Joe Biden went on television to take a victory lap over Trump's conviction for Beating Hillary, er, paying money to protect his family which Alvin Bragg deemed illegal and got a jury of New York Democrats to go along with (twisting the law to make it a felony in the process). He waxed poetic on the rule of law, and said anyone who questioned the verdict was irresponsible (and by extension would probably face the wrath of his Injustice Department if they brought it up.) The hypocrisy is astonishing; Biden has never given a rats petunia for the Rule of Law and everyone knows it.
Here are a few cases in point:
https://oversight.house.gov/landing/biden-family-investigation/
https://oversight.house.gov/the-bidens-influence-peddling-timeline/
Mr. Biden didn't mention his own collusion with Fani Willis and Jack Smith and likely with Alvin Bragg in these charges filed against Mr. Trump. https://www.nationalreview.com/2024/04/bidens-collusion-in-the-anti-trump-lawfare-gambit/
He seems to have forgotten he himself threatened the President of Ukraine with withholding funding approved by Congress if the man didn't fire the prosecutor investigating Hunter. https://oversight.house.gov/timeline/ukraine-11/biden-firing-ukraine-prosecutor-clip/
He doesn't remember the sweetheart deal that miraculously was offered to Hunter by his own DOJ, one which would have let the First Brat completely off the hook for his crimes.
He doesn't remember how he simply ignored court orders to not forgive student debt.
He doesn't remember that he didn't lift a finger to stop protests at the homes of Supreme Court Justices - which is illegal.
He doesn't remember the cocaine found in the White House and the cover up that followed.
He doesn't seem to remember his dealings with China and the cut "the Big Guy" got on any deal made by his kids.
He doesn't remember that he was only Vice President when he took home classified documents to which he had no authority - and was even a Senator before that in possession of them. He stored them in his garage. When caught there was an investigation (run by the DOJ) which refused to bring charges because Biden was "too old and senile" and yet charges were brought against Donald Trump for the same thing. And then Biden said he was not too old or senile and should be re-elected President.
He seems to have forgotten the rule of law where the southern border is concerned, leaving it wide open despite very specific laws that compel him to take action. His action is to hire more "processors" to move them into the country.
And Biden stole his election in 2020 with multiple cases of fraud now coming to light and yet he's a man who loves the Rule of Law, yessireee!
There have been people who have gone to jail in multiple states. Here is one https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/woman-arrested-voter-fraud-scheme
Biden pivoted in his talk to Israel, and promoted a cease-fire plan that would restore the status quo -again. And he pretended it would make a lasting peace by allowing Hamas to come back. He mocked the idea that Israel should wipe Hamas out permanently and called for rebuilding their strongholds.
Joe Biden is a danger to freedom and security throughout the whole world.

Missouri Revised Statute 115.306
"No person shall qualify as a candidate for elective public office in the state of Missouri who has been found guilty of or pled guilty to a felony under the federal laws of the United States of America or to a felony under the laws of this state or an offense committed in another state that would be considered a felony"
Trump can't run in Missouri, and he won't be certified if he wins. The same holds true in multiple states.
The state legislatures can change the laws, but that is hard and they still have to be signed by the state governors. Some will do so; Florida has done it, I believe. But many others will fail.
That is why they charged Trump with state laws in multiple jurisdictions; they needed a felony conviction at the state level so he couldn't appeal to SCOTUS easily or quickly enough. And he couldn't pardon himself if he won.
This was a coup de tete and intentionally so. And it may well succeed.
Nobody in the media is discussing these laws and that tells me they want to strike with a knockout psychological blow when the election nears and suddenly it becomes obvious an incarcerated Trump can't win because he'll lose a half to a dozen states. Despair will set in and we'll give up. That is why they aren't crowing now about this. If we all made a fuss the states WOULD change their laws.
Mutual Assured Destruction was the term used for U.S. Cold War policy in which we guaranteed the destruction of the Soviet Union if attacked, and they guaranteed ours. Nobody dared launch on the other country because there would be a giant sheet of glass remaining where a nation once stood. Everyone understood that. The Law was not used as a political weapon for reasons of MAD; if they use it on us we can use it on them and everyone goes down. But the Democrats have now crossed the Rubicon and done the unthinkable here, and the GOP let them get away with it. This will happen again and again as they now see it as a viable option.
The only way to stop this is by our launching the birds. We have to take their people out with bogus prosecutions (or legitimate prosecutions for that matter). The gloves have to come off and some of their top brass have to wind up wearing orange. This is the only way this will stop.
Sadly the GOP has neither the courage nor the fortitude to do this. And they probably don't have clean records so they fear it.
When Bill Clinton came into office one of the first things he did was grab 900 raw files from the FBI and didn't give them back. We know what he was doing; blackmailing his political opponents. Clinton came from Hot Springs, Arkansas (or near enough) and came out of the Dixie Mafia. His career was financed by William Lasiter, the "Dixie Don". And the Clinton machine operated like the mob. The GOP, obviously blackmailed, let him get away with murder at the time. Where the Republicans took control of Congress and began promoting themselves, they suddenly turned tail and cowered from Clinton's political wrath. Why? Because he had the dirt on them. They let him off the hook repeatedly.
So now those chickens are coming home to roost. The Democrats are openly using the power of the Law to destroy one of their own and they do nothing. This is what happens when you accept corruption. Trump came in as a reformer and they hated him for that, because he was upsetting a good deal for them - a terrible one for the voters but great for the corrupticans.
But the coyote may eat some chickens last, but eventually he eats all chickens. The GOP will be eaten by them in the end. If there is to be any hope they must take strong action now. Sadly, I doubt any of them have the cajones.
So this was quite possibly a successful coup and Biden has stolen the election a second time now. And put a man in jail who is guilty of nothing but trying to save his family from embarrassment. I remember when they said that about Bill Clinton and that "everybody lies about sex" and nobody thought it election tampering to pay off women as Clinton did then.
Remember, a sword has two edges. It's time the Republicans learned taught that lesson to their good friends across the aisle.

I’m now beginning to more fully understand our major weather systems and how they affect water distribution. The effects of water in our atmosphere was completely botched in the efforts by Svente Arrhenius (1896) and Gilbert Plass (1956).
The La Niña is observed by the warming of waters in the western Pacific. The prevailing east to west winds provide sustained monsoons across Southeast Asia. However, as this moisture approaches the southern slopes of the Himalayas, it condenses and just flows back down the Indus and Ganges Rivers into the Bay of Bengal and Indian Ocean. Pretty much, dry conditions prevail in other regions of the world including the Americas, Australia and Africa. During 2020 to 2023, extended drought affected
Under El Niño conditions, the Pacific jet stream is drawn further south to blow along the latitudes where hurricanes form. The tops of tropical storms are sheared off and hurricanes are suppressed. The opposite is true under La Niña conditions.
With El Niño conditions, the warming of the eastern Pacific spreads moisture across the Americas, Africa, and Europe. The monsoons of Southeast Asia and India dry up.
The Tonga-Hunga submarine volcano on Jan. 15, 2022 disrupted everything and moisture was flung around the globe.
Very definitely, the European theater, 1944 to 1945, was fought under strong El Niño conditions. The cold rains of D-Day. The Battle of the Bulge and the Russian front.
Shift From El Nino to La Nina Portends Rains in Asia, Dryness in Americas

Next month, six of the solar system’s planets—Jupiter, Mercury, Uranus, Mars, Neptune, and Saturn, in that order—form an alignment in the predawn sky.
On June 3, just 20 minutes before sunrise, your local time, the scene will have already risen above the horizon.
For those in the Northern Hemisphere looking east, starting with Jupiter popping just over the horizon, the irregular row of planets will be seen cutting diagonally upward, leaning due south toward constellation Aries, passing through Pisces, and ending westward with Saturn in a parade of planets spanning some 73 degrees of sky.

During the ongoing civil war in the late Roman republic Gaius Julius Caesar arrived with his army at the Rubicon river - the border to Rome itself. No army had ever gone inside to operate before, but Caesar dared do the unthinkable and invaded his own country. That was the end of the republic and the beginning of the empire.
Caesar would bear the title of Tyrannis - which was a Greek term for someone who assumed total power in a polis, or city state. When Brutus assassinated him it was with the cry "sic semper tyrannis" or "thus always to tyrants". Caesar had taken power on multiple fronts, not just political or magistrative. He systematically dismantled the old Republic, gathering all power to himself.
Caesar was only able to assume power because he had an army and dared do the unthinkable; cross the Rubicon and seize it.
That is what just happened yesterday evening. The American Left, and particularly the Democratic Party, just crossed the Rubicon and convincted an innocent man of a dubious, hard to understand crime that they twisted into a felony through legal gymnastics. The man was the standard-bearer of half the country and the likely future President.
This was unprecedented and spells the end of the American republic as surely as did Caesar's crossing of the Rubicon. We now no longer have the rule of law, nor the peaceful transfer of power. This spells the beginning of power at any cost by any means necessary, and it is going tolead to not just civil strife but eventually war. America is going to become like Ireland had been until just a few years ago I fear. And if it doesn't it should because if this can be done to Trump it can and will be done to everyone who gets in the way of those in power. There will never be another peaceful transition of power in this country. The "Progressives" now understand they can overturn the Will of the People through the abuse of law and power.
The only way to put this back in the bottle is by a massive retaliatory strike. Mutual Assured Destruction stopped this in times past and now one side has launched the birds. There is absolutely nothing to be done but to counterattack with everything. The GOP MUST do this to them, or it is finished. Sadly I fear most Republicans don't understand that because they are happy making money and enjoying their status and letting Democrats controlthe agenda. Now they are forced to step up or disappear as surely as did the Whigs just before the Civil War.
I doubt the GOP will have the strength to do what is needed and the end result will be the public will take matters into their own hands. We are now primed for the rise of an American version of the IRA. Take away the Ruloe of Law and you wind up with a horrible criminal system. The Mafia was the same in Italy. People have to have an outlet that dispenses justice. If the authorities are too corrupt they will create their own.
But the Democrats stopped that SOB Donald Trump, yessirree! No border wall now! And they have destroyed the country in the process.
Lord Acton famously stated " Power tends to corrupt; absolute power corrupts absolutely" and power has corrupted a large swath of the nation. Now power is all they care about.
I am mindful of the wrath of Jesus towards the rebellious angels in Milton's Paradise Lost, Book 6:
"That they may have their wish, to try with me
In battle which the stronger proves; they all,
Or I alone against them; since by strength
They measure all, of other excellence
Not emulous, nor care who them excels;
Nor other strife with them do I vouchsafe.
So spake the Son, and into terrour changed
His countenance too severe to be beheld,
And full of wrath bent on his enemies.
At once the Four spread out their starry wings
With dreadful shade contiguous, and the orbs
Of his fierce chariot rolled, as with the sound
Of torrent floods, or of a numerous host.
He on his impious foes right onward drove,
Gloomy as night; under his burning wheels
The stedfast empyrean shook throughout,
All but the throne itself of God. Full soon
Among them he arrived; in his right hand
Grasping ten thousand thunders, which he sent
Before him, such as in their souls infixed
Plagues: They, astonished, all resistance lost,
All courage; down their idle weapons dropt:
O'er shields, and helms, and helmed heads he rode
Of Thrones and mighty Seraphim prostrate,
That wished the mountains now might be again
Thrown on them, as a shelter from his ire.
Nor less on either side tempestuous fell
His arrows, from the fourfold-visaged Four
Distinct with eyes, and from the living wheels
Distinct alike with multitude of eyes;
One Spirit in them ruled; and every eye
Glared lightning, and shot forth pernicious fire
Among the accursed, that withered all their strength,
And of their wonted vigour left them drained,
Exhausted, spiritless, afflicted, fallen.
Yet half his strength he put not forth, but checked
His thunder in mid volley; for he meant
Not to destroy, but root them out of Heaven:
The overthrown he raised, and as a herd
Of goats or timorous flock together thronged
Drove them before him thunder-struck, pursued
With terrours, and with furies, to the bounds
And crystal wall of Heaven; which, opening wide,
Rolled inward, and a spacious gap disclosed
Into the wasteful deep: The monstrous sight
Struck them with horrour backward, but far worse
Urged them behind: Headlong themselves they threw
Down from the verge of Heaven; eternal wrath
Burnt after them to the bottomless pit."
This is the fate of those who seek power and power alone, and it will be the fate of these who destroy this nation in the end, to be smote by forces far greater than they and to be driven off the parapet of Heaven ito the bottomless pit.
But in the meantime they are ruining America and making her a cautionary tale.
That is, if and when the American People rise against this and then they will see a "terrible change in countenance" as we remember who we are and what we stand for and how they seduced us into Hell.
As ye sow so shall ye reap, the Bible says. They have sown the whirlwind.

Word on the street is that Kevin Costner has fired Robert "Trump Derangement" DeNiro for his antics outside of the Trump trial in New York.
Word has it Costner was disgusted by DeNiro, who he says was given his role out of pity (since DeNiro is having trouble finding work) and that his antics were bringing controversy down on his latest project.
While I don't like cancel culture it does give some schadenfreud to see a woke idiot get bitten.

Judge Marchan won’t give the jury a written copy of the jury instructions. The jury instructions in the Trump trial are more than FIFTY PAGES LONG. That's right, fifty pages of legalese to guide the jurors through the labyrinth of the case. It's like reading a novella, but with more "heretofores" and "whereases." The jurors have to keep the instructions in their memory after hearing them read.
Tim adds:
Why did he do that? So he could hide the fact he was putting his thumb on the scale of justice. Plausible deniability when this thing gets overturned on appeal.

Ukraine knows it is finished and even Yahoo News admits it.
I've been saying this for some time now. For that matter I warned Ukraine could not win this and the best they could do was make a peace that didn't surrender the whole thing. But nobody wanted to hear that; everyone was drunk on old Cold War rhetoric and ridiculous ideas about how we have to "stop Putin now" as if he was Adolf Hittler and Ukraine was Poland.
Without direct NATO involvement Ukraine has just a couple of months left before the end. But Joe Biden may well get America into this fight; he has an election to tamper with, after all.

Tenth Amendment Center
On Tuesday, Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry signed a bill into law prohibiting state and local enforcement of rules and mandates that may be imposed by international organizations, including the United Nations and the World Health Organization (WHO).
Sen. Thomas Pressly and two cosponsors introduced Senate Bill 133 (SB133) on Feb. 29. The new law declares, "The World Health Organization, United Nations, and the World Economic Forum shall have no jurisdiction or power within the state of Louisiana.” The law then takes a practical step that attempts to limit their impact in the state by barring state and local cooperation with their rules, regulations, and mandates.
"No rule, regulation, fee, tax, policy, or mandate of any kind of the World Health Organization, United Nations, and the World Economic Forum shall be enforced or implemented by the state of Louisiana or any agency, department, board, commission, political subdivision, governmental entity of the state, parish, municipality, or any other political entity.”
The House passed SB133 by a 69-22 vote. On May 20, the Senate concurred with a 37-0 margin. With Gov. Landry’s signature, the law went into immediate effect.

Joe Bide is seeking to dangerously escalate with Russia by considering allowing U.S. weapons to be used inside of Russia.
Yes, the crazy old crank is looking to make real war with the world's largest nuclear power.
From the folks who strangled Liberty with Darkness (the Washington Post):
These moves would represent a significant escalation of Biden’s carefully calibrated policy of supporting Ukraine while seeking to avoid direct confrontation with Russian President Vladimir Putin or his key ally, China’s Xi Jinping. The fact that such moves are being considered now shows the administration’s growing concern about Ukraine’s vulnerability on the battlefield.
[...]
The loudest call for strikes inside Russia came this week from NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg. "The front line is more or less the border line, and if you cannot attack the Russian forces on the other side of the front line because they are on the other side of the border, then of course you really reduce the ability of the Ukrainian forces to defend themselves,” Stoltenberg told a NATO parliamentary meeting Monday in Sofia, Bulgaria.
"The right to self-defense includes the right to strike legitimate military targets outside Ukraine,” Stoltenberg added. The NATO parliamentary group meeting in Sofia joined him in endorsing "lifting some restrictions on the use of weapons.”
We might be nearing another inflection point in Ukraine. As China leans harder into its partnership with a newly dominant Russia, Biden is weighing whether to deepen his alliance with Kyiv. This would bring new risks, but it would make sense if it could bolster a wobbly Ukraine and rebalance the negotiating table, which is where this war must eventually be settled
Are American and European cities worth a few square miles of Ukraine?
But then Biden needs a big victory to be re-elected; war is asbolutely crucial to his political fortunes.
And that's all he cares about.

The head of the Minneapolis Federal Reserve says immigration is driving high interest rates and high housing costs and keeping inflation up.
"[If the] dramatic increase in immigration were to be sustained, I think it would have a meaningful imprint on the economy,’ Kashkari told the Telegraph.
"Housing is traditionally the most interest-rate sensitive sector of the economy. And it has shown remarkable resilience and even some evidence that new leases are ticking back up,” Kashkari said. "That’s also particularly concerning because when we do the math, it takes a year or more for new leases to translate into the actual measured inflation number. And if new leases are now ticking back up, that’s particularly concerning.”
Kashkari argued that the U.S. had under-built homes in the decade that followed the financial crisis and the bursting of the mortgage bubble, creating a shortage of homes. At the same time, there has been increased demand for housing after the pandemic.
"And then we have a big surge in immigration in the last few years. They obviously need a place to live. All of these factors could be propping up demand for housing,” Kashkari added.

"Disagreement" in the jury room at Trumpapalooza.
Jurors asked for transcripts and also for the judge to repeat his (unlawful) instructions to the jury. (Judge Meathead, er, Meacham said they need not worry about disagreeing over the fundamentals, something clearly outside the purview of the law.You can't convict a man for a crime if you think his actions did not break any laws leading up to the so-called crime.)
FTA:
"The request for instructions is particularly interesting,” Mr. Turley wrote in a post. "I cannot imagine a need for the instruction unless there was an early disagreement in that room on the evidence and the standards.”
In another post, Mr. Turley further clarified this view: "The only reason to hear the instructions again is to clarify the standard if jurors are in disagreement.”
The law professor also speculated that another "intriguing possibility” was that a juror may have invoked Judge Merchan’s instructions that if one of the witnesses, Michael Cohen, lied about any material points while on the stand, the jurors could disregard all of his testimony.
Judge Merchan also told jurors that they cannot find President Trump guilty solely based on the testimony of Mr. Cohen, who was the former president’s lawyer and associate.
After the jurors re-entered the courtroom in the afternoon, the judge told them that the compilation of testimony they had requested for a readback was not yet complete and so he dismissed them—before admonishing them not to discuss the case with anyone
We'll know soon.

From Paul Ingrassia on X:
"RECAP: Just to breakdown how unprecedented Merchan’s novel theory of criminal liability is: Normally, in a criminal trial, the constitutional requirement is that a jury reaches a unanimous verdict on guilt or innocence.
Unanimity requires that all jurors believe the burden of proof, beyond a reasonable doubt, has been satisfied on every element of the alleged crime.
Implicit in this scheme is that there is also unanimity on what the underlying crime is. You can’t have one juror believing the burden of proof was met for one crime, and another juror believing the burden of proof was reached for another, but not the first crime. And because both jurors believed the defendant was guilty for *something* that fact alone should drive a guilty verdict.
The above would be a due process violation — and for obvious reasons, it implicates double jeopardy issues, and completely destroys the extremely high evidentiary standard needed to prove guilt in a criminal trial.
But for Merchan: none of that matters. If juror 1 believes the People did not meet its burden of proof for an FEC violation, but did on some nebulous "tax law violation,” while juror 2 believes the opposite, the fact that they both were in consensus on a guilty verdict is sufficient for a guilty verdict.
This is
utterly outrageous. Merchan is deliberately lowering the threshold for
what Bragg needs to prove in order to more easily reach a guilty
verdict. That’s the only explanation for what he’s doing, never mind
the fact that he’s flagrantly ignoring well-establishe
For all the insinuations heard out of Bragg’s prosecutors mouths over the last few days that suggested Donald Trump ran his business like a mafia don, it’s quite rich that it’s the accusers who are relying on a Machiavellian "ends justify the means” approach of retributive justice to find President Trump guilty, massacring his due process rights along the way.”
