DOJ Refuses to Cooperate with House Judiciary Committee

Timothy Birdnow

The high handed Biden Department of Justice just flipped the Republican House the bird.

DOJ Tells Republican Congress Not to Expect Cooperation and Thank You - The Last Refuge
theconservativetreehouse.com

Unfortunately the House can do little with the Senate firmly under the control of the Democrats (I say firmly because Mitch McConnell will not lift a finger to help Jim Jordan and the House and they would need a 2/3 vote to convict for Contempt of Congress anyway - something that isn't going to happen.)

But the House can defund. And why not? It's not like the DOJ is doing any real police work, but rather is acting in the role of political hatchet man. The states can do what the DOJ is doing quite well.

So the House should starve the Artful DOJers.

I am SO thankful Merrick Garland was kept of the Supreme Court.

The World Anschluss is Come

Chester McAteer

"We shall have World Government, whether or not we like it. The only question is whether World Government will be achieved by conquest or consent."

Paul Warburg, 1950

It's been a long time in the planning and they are now pushing it hard. Don't let them!

Tim adds:

Yep. long planned, they are now in the implementation phase. BTW they are trying to do this the same way they created the E.U.; unify the economies of all countries to a point where nobody will go to war, then simply unify them politically. It's why they created NAFTA, for instance. And it's why they are pushing this Ukraine war now; they want Russia's power broken by exhausting them economically and then rebuilding everyone so their economies are all tied together with the international order.

The Meaning of "Privilege"

Bob Clasen

"Privilege” makes some sense if separated from race. Some white people grow up with few advantages. Some blacks are quite privileged. Race is also a murky designation. People are increasingly a mixture of different races, more and more as time goes on. Talking about "white privileged” as if being white is the only significant factor is nonsense.

Michael Lorre adds:

"Privilege" was invented because a) the marxists who now self identify as "woke" wore out ranting about "class" because they realized Americans, as de Toqueville commented, ALL behave as "temporarily embarrassed millionaires" and aspire to become rich through thrift and hustle, and have no tolerance for the idea of class warfare. and b) poor whites have no obvious structural impediments to upward mobility, other than their own poor education, their mockery of book learning, and suspicion of hard work and science, lack of interest in saving and investing, but few poor whites have actual interest in marxism (because reading that drivel is more book learnin' and they know they are the the real cause of their own poverty). and c) racial minorities have an easy visible barrier to upward mobility, i.e. skin color, while of course women are also visibly distinct from the people at the top of the economic ladder, so its relatively easy to point to those obvious visible distinctions as the cause of their problems, while ignoring all the poverty stricken poor white males who actually outnumber the others as "privileged" who are the real worthless people because they dont take advantage of their privilege like the minorities would if they had it.

Tim adds:

"Race" now means a state of mind. A person who supports the traditional American culture and economic system is "white" and those who opppose it are not. I remember a Jewish media guy (can't remember who it was offhand) who was angry at being called white "I'm not white, I'm Jewish". ???? In other words he doesnt IDENTIFY as white and so he is not. And many black people are called white by other blacks, blacks who do not like America. Oreos they call them. But in the end it's not about color or sex or much of any of the things they use to justify it - it's about believing in our nation, our culture, our way of life, and our economic system. Anyone who supports that is a white man and definitionally "privileged". Even if you come from poverty.

The Incredible Shrinking American

Timothy Birdnow

People with hope have children. America has become a place without hope for the future. Who wants to sire a child who will be treated like an oppressor, or a rapist and forced to hate his or her own existence by a cabal of radicals? Who wants to bring a child into a socialist hellhole? The Left has stolen the thing that made America great - her optimism in the future (which itself was a product of our strong Christian faith, something else they have stolen). Nihilism leads to despair. We are a nation in despair and it will only keep getting worse.

US Birth Rates Continue to Fall
newsmax.com

From 2015 through 2019, 39.7% of boys and men aged 15 to 44 had fathered a child, compared to 43.8% during 2011–2015, the report said.

Couple that with the extreme feminism of modernity, and with the rising homosexuality, and there is little reason to think fertility would improve at all.

And that is exactly how the Ruling Class wants it. The only reason America isn't seeing a population decline is because we are taking in so many aliens - between 45 and 60 million, depending on whose figures you use. (That is legal and illegal.) That is more than the population of Canada and double the population of Australia.

Without it America would be shrinking as much as Russia or any other post-modern country.

The elites of the West are all Malthusians and have bought into "the Population Bomb" and the stupidity of the Club of Rome study "Limits to Growth". They fear population rise and also know they cannot control so many people. They want a world without the "reactionary" working class and others who would oppose their dreams of a technological hell on Earth.

So they have encouraged depopulation and are no doubt quite happy at our declining fertility.

Respecting Nature

Richard Cronin

There are predators and you must protect yourself against them. Protect the kids in particular. All species mark their territory and defend it. Nature is definitely opportunistic. Resourceful. Some would say Nature is harsh. Perhaps so. Mistakes are readily punished. But the height of folly is to think you can control Nature or beat the business model provided by Nature.

Capitalism is the Natural way of things. There are competitors. Nobody thinks of themselves as victims. Capitalism internalizes costs.

Opportunistic, wily, and territorial. After eating his fill, the squirrel stores away nuts for the future. Savings. Nature runs a balanced budget.

Socialism is unnatural. Socialism externalizes costs. Always extending unearned benefits to the undeserving. Economic imbalances. Mistakes go unpunished. Only in Socialism are people taught that they are victims, deserving something from the polar bear because four generations ago my great-great ancestral seal uncle was eaten by a polar bear.

I could go on.

DiCaprio by the Sea

Timothy Birdnow

Leo Di Caprio buys 14 million dollar beach front property in Malibu.

Strange; DiCapriio has repeatedly worried publicly about rising sea levels and catastrophic Global Warming. Amazing how he doesn't let this dangerous rising water prevent him from shooting a wad on property that, according to his own beliefs, will soon be under water.

This is yet more proof the elites are playing games with this to their advantage.

Short Change

Timothy Birdnow

He's right. Change for change's sake is stupidity but most people think it is a good, indeed a necessity. But is it?

We live in a world governed by entropy. Entropy is the tendency of things to wind down, to break, to stop working. To reverse entropy requires great effort. To keep a system functioning requires less effort but still requires we work at it. (It's much like the Newtonian law of motion; a body in motion remains in motion. But it's a bit different since entropy naturally invades any system eventually.)

So to create is quite difficult, but to destroy is easy, and change is often for the worse as it allows entropy to sneak into the machine.

There is a reason why we do things the way we do. often that reason was learned in a very painful lesson, a lesson forgotten by those seeking "change".

Change is indeed inevitable and may be beneficial, but it must be weighed carefully and deliberately. Change for change sake is stupidity.

He's also right about the reasons the public supports it. "New and Improved!" is a common marketing phrase. People get bored. They want a new thing. Do not make the mistake of dismissing boredom; it is one of the cornerstones of the rise and fall of civilizations. People get bored, get dissatisfied, and then they seek "new and improved" which is very often old and degenerate. Most things in our culture have been done before. We like to boast to ourselves of our progress but we don't really change from the past much. Technology improves, yes (although not always; there were things the ancients could do we cannot) but the core of Man and his proud civilization remains pretty much the same, and the same mistakes are made over and over.

(I've often chided the GOP for their obliviousness to the importance of entertaining the public; they do not understand that boredom is a powerful drive in people's voting. You have to be fresh and exciting and "new" even if you are pitching an eternal truth.)

This from Morgan K. Freeburg:

"The Left holds a certain appeal for a broad cross-section of the country, that it shouldn't hold, because it stands for "change" and people misunderstand what that is.

People have a tendency to presume change is due, or overdue. They think any resistance to change must entail a commitment to the status quo that surpasses all reason, in terms of risibility of the situation and also in terms of longevity. "Change" represents, to the public at large, something like flopping over on your left side in the middle of the night when you've been sleeping on your right side for too long. It doesn't matter if you did more flipping and flopping a few hours ago or will be doing it again a few hours from now. Your hip hurts.

Because they see it this way, they're overly receptive to the implied proposal: "We are here, and we need to be over there. Let's pick up and re-locate. Solve the problem."

This doesn't reflect truth. The truth is that The Left is committed to change for change's sake. When they complain about gays not being able to marry, you can give them every little thing they demand and they'll be back with a whole new list of demands for transvestites. We just lived through that. When they complain someone isn't paying "his or her fair share" they don't have a share in mind. You can't up that person's taxes to make them happy. They'll always want something different. Always.

The truth is that their side is the one with an unreasonable commitment. Their commitment is to instability.

Returning to the metaphor of the sleeping man flopping over onto his other side, their plan is for him to spend the night flopping, flopping, and flopping some more, never stopping, like a rotisserie chicken. Constant change, so we can never gain a foothold, never get any rest and never get anything done.

It's exactly what our country's enemies would want, if they could run things on our behalf.”

But, as with the ad campaign for reruns on a network a few years ago, if you haven't seen it, it's new to you. So we repeat the cycle which leads to our woe.

And yes, the Left is heterodox; they want to tear down and don't really care what they replace it with. Any alternative will do.

But some do more than others. The goal of the deeper thinkers on the Left is to tear down so they can rebuild in their own image. They ultimately believe in Socialism because Socialism gives absolute power to them to mold humanity as they see fit. But they know Socialism won't work as long as there are any vestiges of the old ways around. They have to systematically dismantle every good thing to bring a "better" thing, as they see it.

That's why anarchists are leftists. One would think an anarchist would be an extreme Libertarian, but in fact he only seeks to destroy so he may impose a far stricter authoritarianism. Nobody in their right mind wants anarchy as it inevitably leads to tyranny, as Plato so aptly pointed out.

This is a good commentary!

Nonsense is Nonsense Even if Scientists are Writing It

Carlos Velazquez

It's no coincidence nor surprising that mathematicians are most likely scientists to understand the impossibility, because of the astronomical odds, against the universe originating from nothing.

As Professor Lennox said: NONSENSE IS STILL NONSENSE EVEN IF SCIENTISTS ARE WRITING IT.

Philosophers Notepad

As far as there is God, then Science can never contradict His word or go against his existence. Science in fact helps us to understand the depths of His work in Nature.

What would contradict God's work in science is the atheistic assumption one is making in a given theory or a mistaken interpretation of scripture; but not Science itself.

And "Nonsense remains nonsense even if the greatest scientists are writing it."

Tim adds:

It's always fun to watch these atheistic scientists twist like pretzels to remove God from the equation. They have to fall back on unprovable notions like an infinite number of universes to square the circle that God more easily explains.

Arguing with Idiots: Capitalism Edition III: Son of Idiot

Timothy Birdnow

The Marxist dimwit I have been arguing with about Free Markets v. Socialism is a glutton for punishment. He spouts more leftie platitudes:

Marc Tek gives us quite a show:

You are literally suffering and experiencing the next stages of capitalism and you think it is something else.
As the next stage of capitalism renders most workers unnecessary by the implementation of robotics and future automations, according to you that’s good because it is just more gadgetry.

As for as as China is concerned. They are what they are, they use capitalism because they have to. But China shows it is still socialist in this simple fact. China has raised everyone of its citizens from poverty to a middle class status, its entire country. That isn’t capitalism. In capitalism the middle class shrinks. We are a capitalist nation and most people are not middle class. Therefore China isn’t following a capitalist model. They are simply using the greed of the capitalist to accelerate their own processes while avoiding direct conflict.

Cuba on the other hand is a tiny Island under constant harassment and economic restrictions and sabotage from the US, yet it has managed to provide health resources education to its entire nation while eliminating homelessness which was prevalent in Cuba before. The remarkable aspect of this is that all other nations in Latin America have been capitalist for many decades with the exception of Venezuela and Nicaragua yet Cuba life expectancy, education access and healthcare is superior to that of any of the capitalist nations in Latin America, this is the real reason for the anti Cuban sentiment and economic blocking of that nation. How can Mexico a capitalist economy provide a lesser life expectancy to its citizen than Cuba a tiny island?
This is only explained by the fact that when people work together and selfishness is not your greatest core value, you can do good by your people even if you are poor.

My response:

Arguing with Idiots: Capitalism Edition

Timothy Birdnow

I'm in an argument with a dimwit on Facebook who believes socialism is the best thing ever and capitalism the worst.

Marc Tek says:

I have only practiced capitalism my whole life. I know and play the game well but I’m here to tell you that Capitalism is unsustainable and it is at the core of every single social and national issue in this country.

Capitalism is like a cancer to a nation.
I know we are told to hate socialism but anybody who claims that capitalism is somehow superior for a country as a whole is either, purposely lying, ignorant of what capitalism does and how it works or simply benefitting from the status quo.

Naturally I have to rebut this. I reply: more...

CA Hires Mercenary Illegal Cops

Timothy Birdnow

In the latter days of the Roman Empire Rome had a serious problem with illegal immigration. German tribes kept coming in uninvited, and they did not wish to enculturate but rather wanted to remain  German. The Empire's solution was to put them in the army and have them serve as police and border guards and the like.

The end result?  The Empire was overrun and collapsed.

America is on it's way to doing that.

There already were illegals in the military, but now California is going to allow them to become police officers, enforcing laws while themselves being lawbreakers.

From the Blaze article:

Gov. Gavin Newsom ratified fellow Democrat state Sen. Nancy Skinner's bill SB-960on Sept. 29, 2022, thereby scrapping the requirement that police, highway patrol, and corrections officers have to be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.

This law went into effect on Jan. 1, meaning foreign nationals can now police American citizens.

[...]

It was noted in a March 18, 2022, hearing of the California Senate Committee on Public Safety, chaired by Democratic Sen. Steven Bradford, that "among the categories of work-authorized non-citizens that would likely be eligible are permanent workers (immigrant visa based on employment), asylees and refugees, and individuals are protected under the Program of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA)."

Were this the case, certain illegal aliens criminally trespassing in the United States could become police officers.

However, state Sen. Skinner's spokesman, Robert Gammon, told Reuters that "SB 960 only allows noncitizens with full federal legal work authorization to become police officers in California."

The Chicoms were behind the push to ban gas stoves, according to Monica Showalter:

Ever wondered who was behind that greenie push to ban gas stoves?

The call to ban gas stoves in the U.S., based on environmental concerns, certainly drew backlash from an angry public tired of seeing their household appliances, critical possessions and standard of living being targeted.

After all, they've already gotten our incandescent light bulbs and flush toilets in many quarters. They've meddled with the design of our cars and guns. They're trying to get our meat, telling us to eat bugs instead. Many consumers, and professional chefs, who say gas is best for cooking, simply put their collective foot down.

Where did this lunacy come from?

About where you'd expect -- from our enemies.

According to the Washington Free Beacon:

The green energy group behind a study cited in Consumer Product Safety commissioner Richard Trumka Jr.'s call to ban gas stoves has partnered with the Chinese government to implement an "economy-wide transformation" away from oil and gas.

Colorado-based nonprofit Rocky Mountain Institute, which published the December study that attributes 13 percent of U.S. childhood asthma cases to gas-stove use, is hardly staffed by an objective group of scientists.

Normalizing Athlete Deaths

US Debt Shenanigans About To Start

James Doogue

The US Government has a current legislated debt ceiling of US$31.4.

As of January 4, 2023, the U.S. Treasury’s official figure for the debt of the federal government was $31,375,549,251 ,149.

This equates to:

- $93,870 for every person living in the U.S. But more importantly.

- $239,139 for every household in the U.S

- That's 66% more than the combined consumer debt of every household in the U.S.

- and 6.4 times annual federal revenues.

- a massive 125% of annual U.S. economic output (GDP)

Without permission to borrow more money the government will be required to shut down all but essential services.

The debt ceiling has been increased by a massive $9.5 trillion since Joe Biden's election to cover structural growing expenditure plus omnibus Bills such as the Covid Recovery Act, The Infrastructure Bill and the Inflation Reduction Act. All massive Democrat boondoggle, crony wish-list list, and left wing spending which had little to do with the title of the omnibus spending Bills.

Change Minds, not Bodies

Selwyn Duke

https://www.selwynduke.com/2023/01/wisconsin-gop-takes-stand-for-freedom-suspends-conversion-therapy-ban.html

Many people desperately want their minds changed, not their bodies. As with a MUSS individual who wrote in an online comment years ago, "I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy,” these people seek freedom from their disordered sex-oriented feelings. That a certain party would deny them this freedom, and would instead mutilate their bodies, says it all.

Tim adds:

During the Iraq and Afghani wars we were told we needed to win hearts and minds. I argued that we needed to first win the wars - meaning break a bunch of bodies. That is true in warfare. But we were told we had to change minds.

Strange how they have flipped on this particular issue. Now changing minds is anathema and changing bodies the way to go. Why is that?

A changed mind can always be changed back if one wants. A changed body is forever broken.
