The European Union aka the Fourth Reich now wants to ban political speech they do not like. They are threatening to pass laws against "disinformation" that competes with their own disinformation.
They put Elon Musk on notice he's in their crosshairs.
Common Sense and Wonder dishes:
http://commonsensewonder.blogspot.com/2023/01/see-how-easily-europe-slides-back-into.html
"European politician Věra Jourová warned Elon Musk from theWorld Economic Forum in Davosthat Twitter will face "sanctions" if it does not shut down some forms of speech.
Jourová, the European Commission’s Vice President for Values and Transparency, told Euronews Next that Twitter may face penalties for enabling free speech in violation of European Union regulations. "The time of the Wild West is over," she said.
"We will have the Digital Services Act [DSA]. We will have the Code of Practice as a part of this legislation," Jourová said. "So, after Mr. Musk took over Twitter with his ‘freedom of speech absolutism’ - we are the protectors of freedom of speech as well. But at the same time, we cannot accept, for instance, illegal content online and so on. So, our message was clear: we have rules which have to be complied with, otherwise there will be sanctions."
End excerpt.
The only reason to censor speech is to stop the truth from getting out. It is the hallmark of tyranny.
The European Union deserves to join Hitler's Thousand Year Reich in the ashbin of history.

Joe Biden is now asking Communists to help Ukraine by sending their old weapons to help fight the Russians and promising to replace them with new American equipment.
Every time I think the Biden Administration has gone as low as they can get they find new depths.
The US has asked Cuba, Nicaragua, Venezuela, and six other Latin American nations to send their old Russian weapons to Ukraine in exchange for U.S. equipment.
US SOUTHCOM Commander General Laura Richardson discussed the request in a recent interview.pic.twitter.com/7AW2lPrrr1
— MintPress News (@MintPressNews) January 23, 2023
"60 percent of the world's lithium is in the Lithium Triangle: Argentina, Bolivia, Chile."
They cannot possibly be that stupid.Gen. Richardson also discussed Latin American trade and the US's "stake" in the economic resources of the region, including the Amazon's fresh water. pic.twitter.com/RUTqo4rIu1
— MintPress News (@MintPressNews) January 23, 2023
And do note the reason for the scheme; to acquire lithium to promote Biden's demand that America quit driving gas powered vehicles and move to the boondoggle electric cars.
These people are insane - or they hate America and all Mankind, I'm not sure which.
Latin America is turning red. The Communist regimes - Nicaragua, Venezuela, and Cuba, are now being joined by a host of other nations in the region - Honduras saw the election of the wife of the Marxist who tried to subvert the constitution and remain in power beyond his term of office (and was removed by the country's supreme court and subsequently by the military when he refused to leave.) Xiomara Castro de Zelaya is now moving the country toward the glorious socialist revolutione'.
Mexico saw the election of the radical leftist Lopez-Obrador. In El Salvador they have Nayib Armando Bukele Ortez, who proudly calls himself a "man of the left". We saw leftists recently elected in Peru, in Columbia, in Bolivia, in Brazil (well, he stole the job), in Guatemala and in Chile. Argentina has always had leftists in power, too, with the Peronistas winning regularly.
So Latin America is turning red, as the Soviets had tried to make happen during the Cold War, and Joe Biden wants to ARM them!
Communist revolutions will break out all over the region, and the most stable Latin American countries will face civil wars and revolutions.
There is already blood on Biden's hands. And it is on Obama's as well.
We are told by Mr. Biden that the invasion of our southern border is caused by refugees. If so, why are there so many? Because he and Mr. Obama (and Mr. Bush) ignored the problems down in Latin America and did not push for real reforms. We have let the Communists infect the whole region, and the fruits of Communism are always refugees seeking to escape. Many of the people crossing the border are from these countries.
It's disgraceful, and Joe Biden wants to give these bolshevik regimes new, modern weapons to wipe out the people who oppose them.
But why wouldn't he? I mean, he would LOVE to take the weapons of Americans so we can't drive his geriatric carcass out of office when he tries to pull a Zelaya and overstay his time in office. And I suspect he'll do just that by openly cheating in the next election.
Why shouldn't we give weapons to Marxists? America is now a pink nation.
So why are they doing that? Seems we have exhausted our own weapons cache.

More on the mining and metals front.
Now think of all the copper windings in wind turbines and the copper cabling needed to bring that power ashore. Underutilized virtually all of the time, but the cabling must be there for the periods that the winds blow optimally.
Mining and resource extraction are capital intensive industries. Miners don’t sink major investment where there is political & economic unrest.

Well, what do you know? And why isn't the mainstream media reporting this loudly? You can bet if it was Steve Scalise's kid we'd never hear the end of it.
Transgender child of top Democrat arrested for assaulting Boston police…
It appears that the child of Democrat House Minority Whip Katherine M. Clark was arrested for assaulting police as part of an #antifa event in Boston last night.
Jared 'Riley' Dowell allegedly graffiti'd "stop cop city" and assaulted police while resisting arrest. https://t.co/yP0oAPbpJv pic.twitter.com/LC7ZSaSIG0
— AntifaWatch (@AntifaWatch2) January 22, 2023
Upon arrival officers observed an individual defacing the monument with spray paint. The tagging read "NO COP CITY” and "ACAB”. The suspect was later identified as Jared Dowell, 23, of Melrose.
During the arrest of Jared Dowell, a group of about 20 protesters began to surround officers while screaming profanities though megaphones on the public street causing traffic to come to a standstill. While interfering with the arrest of Jared Dowell, an officer was hit in the face and could be seen bleeding from the nose and mouth.
Jared Dowell was placed under arrest and charged with Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon, Destruction or Injury of Personal Property and Damage of Property by Graffiti/Tagging.
Imagine if this were a Proud Boys protest? If a Republican were arrested at such an event we would be hearing about the rise of "white supremacism" until doomsday. But since this was a testosterone-challenged sissy boy Democrat it's all different. How much do you want to bet the kid gets off with probation?

Nuclear fission and nuclear fusion are the natural counterparts in Nature to power Life and produce the Elements which comprise our Universe.
Since the earliest work of Paul Kuroda (1956) , Oklo Gabon (1972) and J. Marvin Herndon (early 1990s) it is known that fission occurs naturally. Getting these heavy fissile Actinides together is very, very easy.
The Actinides (Th, U, etc.) are not only the most massive, dense elements, they are also the most electropositive
The GeoReactor powers the Earth’s geomagnetic field. Inverse beta decay
from fission emits a steady stream of electrons flooding out into the
conductive metals surrounding the Nickel Silicide Inner Core. Any time
a charged particle moves it generates a magnetic field. The electrons
from inverse beta decay only act as a "seed” or exciter field. Once so
enabled, the magnetic field generator is self-sustaining
The solar wind streams out across our geomagnetic field and distorts it into a teardrop shape. This magnetic field distortion induces Ohmic heating at the core of the planet and contributes to the interior heat of the Earth.
A fission trigger ignited our Sun as a massive Hydrogen Bomb. Residual Actinides which escaped the initial detonation had been stripped of their electrons and the Actinides are very unhappy in the plasma state. They set about to recover their electrons by swimming topside, taking billions of years to arrive at the surface of the Sun.
The electrons had fled topside. The Actinides grabbed what they could to refill their electron shells and drop out of plasma state.
There is an inverse relationship between criticality and temperature.
Elevated temperature suppresses criticality. As the Actinides percolate
upward and coalesce into eutectic droplets they concentrate. When these
droplets approach the surface and cool, they become critical and
detonate as an Atomic Bomb. Sun spots are bomb craters. Solar flares
and coronal mass ejections give off electromagnetic
In essence, our Sun is a delayed fission boost device. The Tsar Bomba. Look it up.
Now then, we have the solution to the Faint Young Sun Paradox, wherein it took approx. 4 billion years for the Sun to reach its current luminosity. In the earlier years, it was only about 70 % as luminous as today as Actinides were swimming upward and the Earth should have been frozen solid with no liquid water to allow the earliest photosynthetic Life to form. The internal heat of the Earth maintained liquid water on the surface while radiation came into full development to meet the requirements of photosynthesis.
Cyanobacteria formed approx. 3.5 billion years ago. Anaerobic life formed about 4.2 billion years ago, when we had methane and metal sulfides spewing from hydrothermal vents. Anaerobic life utilizes sulfur reduction.
There were no
trees making methane, nor the longer chain biochemicals (oil) to form
anaerobic life. Abiotic hydrocarbons were produced by Abiotic sources —
Serpentinizatio
If you’ve read this far, are you really worried about a "climate crisis” ?
You really should be worried about what the Great Reset and Socialists like Elizabeth Warren have in store for you.

This is the Year of the Rabbit in the Chinese Zodiac. Peace and harmony are supposed to be the fruits of the rabbit.
Got me to thinking; Joe Biden does bear a striking resemblance to Elmer Fudd, and no doubt he'll do his best to "kill da wabbitt" - heheheheheeeee.
I think this upcoming year is apt to be more lively and less peaceful though.
Let us hope the GOP is the personification of Bugs Bunny and deals the old hunter (and Hunter) fits.

Managed to snag this excellent book that normally goes for over $50 used online for only 75 cents at a used bookstore, and it was in perfect condition. James Banner's 1970 "To the Hartford Convention" is the best account of the philosophy of the New England Federalists and the intellectual origins of the Hartford Convention that I have encountered.
From the book:
"In the thinking of Massachusetts Federalists, virtue flourished when men sacrificed personal advantage for the general welfare and displayed a disinterested concern for the good of all. 'True republican rulers,' noted the Reverend John Thornton Kirkland, 'are bound to act, not simply as those who appoint them would, but as they ought.' But virtue, above all, implied dedication to religion. 'Religion makes men republicans,' declared Nathaniel Emmons, an outspoken clerical adherent of Federalism. Piety and good morals, wrote Tappan, 'invariably lead to national honor and prosperity, and in the ordinary course of things will ultimately secure them.' But 'every species of irreligion and vice contributes either directly or remotely, to disgrace, enfeeble, and destroy a community.
...Large republics, Federalists believed after Montesquieu, tended to disintegrate, and if they managed to retain their cohesion they do so only under the corrective force of military despotism. 'All history,' Federalists agreed, 'showed that great empires, whether monarchies or republics, had ultimately broken to pieces by their magnitude.' Before 1815, no Massachusetts Federalist was known to accept Madison's bold thesis, best expressed in the Tenth Federalist, that large territorial boundaries might be the very guarantor of republican government.
Nor did the Massachusetts Federalists accept the Madisonian notion of an inevitable, if managable struggle between the elements of a pluralistic society. They denied the existence of a natural contest between the upper and lower orders of society, between the productive classes, or among sections, religions, and different types of property. 'Our interests when candidly considered are one,' Theophilus Parsons declared. The inhabitants of remote agricultural towns often complained that disregard for commerce and shipping brought ruin to the whole republic. Northampton memorialists who petitioned Congress against the declaration of war in 1812 pointed out that 'residing in the interior of the country' they had no direct interest in opposing the government's trade restrictions. 'But the interests of the merchant are so closely blended with those of the mechanic and husbandman, that any measures hostile to the rights and happiness of either, maintain the same character in relation to all."

I am now sure a politician can lie for decades, set up a criminal corrupt organisation, get money from Russia, Ukraine and China, be a known creep with women and little girls, distribute classified documents all over the country, make up stories about attending a Black church, spout racist declarations over and over, be singularly responsible for the incarceration of millions of African Americans, support and actively make wars happen with a tally now approaching the million, obviously live well above his salary, open the VP role to foreign influence, declare in public the use of qui pro quo for personal reasons…and still he gets the antiTrumpers’ support because some bunch of idiots have counted Trump’s "lies”.
There is no depth too deep for the antiTrumpers to stop and ask themselves if the world is really as described in newspapers.
Tim adds:
Don't forget plagiarizing foreign leaders and openly supporting a Grand Kleagel or Cyclops or whatever he was in the KKK (Robert Byrd).

Interesting points:
Documents found in properties owned or occupied by Biden were marked TS-SCI ( Top Secret-Sensitive Compartmented Information) meant to be kept and read in secure locations such as a SCIF (Sensitive compartmented information facility).
This is the very top of Top Secret.
It would take a "great deal of effort” to remove these documents from the secure facility….
These Documents were Obama’s as President, not Biden’s as VP.
Biden had no authority to take (steal) them. Or declassify them.

This story does my heart good.
Turncoat and liberal knothead Chris "Riding Daddy's Coattails" Wallace is bombing at CNN.
From the article at Analyzing America:
In comparison, Fox News drew 1,279,000 viewers at the same time period on Trey Gowdy’s "Sunday Night in America.”
Fox News won the time slot by a triple-digit advantage and double-digits in the coveted 25-54 age demographic.
In the 25-54 demographic, Wallace had 58,000 viewers while 72,000 tuned in for Gowdy.
During his departure, Wallace admitted that life at Fox News had become "unsustainable” for him.
Wallace reportedly even complained to Fox News management about
Tucker Carlson who continued to ask questions and investigate instances
of alleged voter fraud in the 2020 election.
The smug liberal Wallace prospered on Fox because of his time slot and the fact he was associated with the fair and balanced network. But he showed his true colors in multiple instances, most especially in siding with Joe Biden during the Presidential debate with Donald Trump.
I find it fitting that the creepy cracker Wallace is now floundering. That should teach everyone that betrayal is not profitable.
The British never trusted Benedict Arnold after he betrayed America and Washington. Sadly so many Fox News people think that betrayal will turn out differently for them, as the mainstream media lures them with candy into their shag-carpeted panel van. In the end the Left won't embrace them, no matter what they do, because they know them to be self-seeking and untrustworthy. They are right.
My heart is gladdened to see justice meted out to another pandering liberal.

"Errors" in voting machines in New Jersey handed a win to the Democrats that was just reversed.
The Donkeys are not happy:
"Reversing the outcome of a race over two months after the election is completely unacceptable and creates an opening for questions about the integrity of elections in Monmouth County, and the state,” he said, according to InsiderNJ.
"Monmouth County, and the state, owes voters complete transparency on how these errors occurred and what steps are being taken to ensure they never repeat. A full investigation of all processes of the County Clerk and Board of Election, in addition to anything relating to the elections process needs to happen immediately,” he said.
Personally I think it is too late to overturn the results. What is needed is a special election.
BUT the Democrats should not be able to steal this and get away with it (and that is what they did whether they will admit that or not.)
