"European electricity producers are snapping up coal cargoes as a shortage of natural gas forces utilities to burn the dirtiest of fossil fuels.â€
Reminder just 3.3% of the world’s energy comes from wind and solar. And Europe is having problems from adding too much. The wind has been on an extended vacation in Europe. Ooops!

So why are they doing this? Is it just to inflate prices, or is there some actual justification for this?

Ron Paul is exactly right.
The Biggest Federal Reserve Scandal
The depression induced by coronavirus, though really caused by so-called public health actions government took in response, was the official reason for the Fed’s increased asset purchases last year. However, the Fed actually started ramping up its money creating activities in September of 2019, when it began pouring billions a day into the repo markets, which banks use to make short-term loans to each other, in order to keep repo market interest rates low.
Coronavirus was just a convenient excuse for the Fed to do more of what it was already doing. Now, the Fed is using the limited reopening as a scapegoat for rising prices. Of course, anyone who understands Austrian economics understands that rising prices are a symptom, not a cause, of inflation. Inflation is the very act of money creation by the Fed.
Rising prices that diminish the average American’s standard of living are not the only result of the Fed’s manipulation of the money supply. The manipulation distorts economic signals, producing results including booms, bubbles, and busts.

Took some time to bang off an e-Mail to three (3) oceanographers:
To Drs. Lowell Stott, Ellen Druffel, George Luther III -
I hope this message finds you and your loved ones in good health. The world needs competent oceanographers.
I have read with interest your papers regarding hydrothermal vent activity in the Eastern Equatorial Pacific accompanied with increased Carbon 14 levels buried in marine sediments.
Carbon-14, Chlorine-36, and Berylium-10 are produced by cosmogenesis in the upper atmosphere, but they are also produced by nuclear fission. Anomalous findings in deep locations have been attributed to open air atomic testing, which ended in the early 1980s.
Tritium, Sodium 22, Chlorine 36 and Radon have been observed at 50 meters depth in a mud volcano in the Caucasus.
"An attempt to determine the tritium, 22Na, 36Cl and radon in territory of mud volcano in Tamanâ€
Nevinsky et al (2001).
French Antarctic researchers have observed anomalous concentrations of Chlorine 36 in ice cores taken at Vostok, deep in East Antarctica, which gets minimal snow compared to the coastal areas of Antarctica (Talos). Yet the Vostok ice cores show greater Cl-36 concentration and it is migrating upward. This finding in deep ice cores is erroneously attributed to open air atomic testing.
"A Comparison of 36Cl Nuclear Bomb Inputs Deposited in Snow From Vostok and Talos Dome, Antarctica, Using the 36Cl/Cl− ratio†- S. Pivot et al (2019)
"The chlorine was not only spreading to the atmosphere from the firn surface of the snowpack, but moving up from the snowpack's depths, meaning the chlorine is more mobile than scientists previously thought.â€
In virtually all ice cores taken in polar regions, the uptick in CO2 lagged the uptick in warmth, by hundreds of years at least.
Perhaps you are familiar with the GeoReactor hypothesis offered by Dr. J. Marvin Herndon since the early 1990s. I have been studying about the GeoReactor since 2006, and there are multiple papers to support his hypothesis.
More recently, James Edward Kamis has introduced his Plate Climatology Theory, which he presented to the American Meteorological Society in 2016. His book was published in May, 2021.
The heat of the Earth’s interior is greatly unsettled. Davies &
Davies (2010) took temperature logs from boreholes, and arrived at an
estimate of 47 TW, +/- 2 TW. They only had a few boreholes on
Continental Shelves and none in the polar regions nor deep ocean
regions — where the Earth’s crust/
L.B. Bezrukov et al (2017) at least thought to include the enthalpy carried with fluids venting out of the planet, and the vast bulk of such vented fluids occur in the deep oceans. Bezrukov arrived at a very, very rough estimate of 300 to 420 TW.
Via bathymetric observations, an estimated 1.0 to 3.5 million submarine volcanoes exist and those numbers are only for the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans. Nothing is provided above latitude 60 degrees — yet the polar regions are very seismically active.
"Global distribution of seamounts from ship-track bathymetry dataâ€
Hillier & Watts, July, 2007
Hydrothermal vents and simple ocean floor seeps are innumerable.
Re: Anthropogenic Climate Change. Climatologists are the wrong discipline to be dominating the conversation, culminating in the money-burning exercises of the IPCC, the Paris Accords, and the Green New Deal. Even more significant are new terms in our lexicon — "Energy Poverty†and "Excess Winter Deathsâ€. Across the European Union, low income households cannot afford to heat their homes in the winter. The impoverished elderly roll up in blankets and die. No doubt that "Energy Poverty†greatly aided the effects of Covid.
Dr. Herndon is an accomplished Nuclear Chemist. Mr. Kamis is an accomplished Geologist. My career has been spent in Chemical Engineering. Oceanographers certainly have a great deal to offer.
Both Svente Arrhenius (1896) and Gilbert Plass (1956) had no idea of the Earth’s multiple internal heat sources. Multiple exothermic chemical reactions in the Upper Mantle and lithosphere produce CO2, SO2, H2S, all the acid gases, plus methane and oil. It’s incalculable, but it is HUGE. The vast amount is dissipated into the oceans, where the lithosphere is thinnest. With the acid gases entering the ocean, we also have the heat of neutralization in the ocean waters.
Re: Abiotic Hydrocarbons. See "Deep Carbon - Past to Present†by the Deep Carbon Observatory, 2019. Chapter 12, Figure 12.10
Another useful reference is "The Fourth Source, Effects of Natural Nuclear Reactors†by Robert J. Tuttle. However, Tuttle frankly admits in his Introduction that the effects of fission on evolution and past galactic events are a bit speculative.
Finally, due to the Neutron Star Merger (NSM) observed in August, 2017 (GW170817) we know that such events are the principal source of the heavy Actinides. Much more of these fissile and fertile elements are available across the Universe.
Please call or write if you wish to communicate more fully.
Thank you.

They have found aircraft under the ice - and other artifacts, suggesting the ice was thinner than today.
From Climate Discussion Nexus:
Journalists regularly seize on random local warm weather or rain events on Greenland as proof of unprecedented warming and the imminent collapse of the entire ice cap. But a new study by 15 mostly US-based Earth scientists looked at the landscape being revealed by retreating ice and found that the regions were ice-free not that long ago. It didn't cause disaster and the ice came back. Weird, huh?

One wonders if the editors of Parameters, by publishing this far-Left sociological nonsense, are simply trying to curry favor with Gen. Mark Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff who has been, in Glenn Greenwald’s words, "spouting the theories and viewpoints that . . . depict white supremacy and ‘white rage’ as a foundational threat to the American homeland,†and who has defended the teaching of critical race theory at West Point. The editors should be ashamed of themselves. And the leaders of the War College should be looking for new editors.

Here's another interesting observation from the EuroMomo mortality stats.
Here is a graph showing the excess death rate in three regions of Germany for the last few years.
Now, we can see that last winter was notably bad. But we can also see that there was an event back in early 2018 which was way way worse than the first wave of the Covid pandemic.
And yet - this event was barely considered newsworthy.
So, something happened which killed more Germans than the onset of the Covid pandemic, and the media simply failed to mention it.
Doesn't that go some way towards putting the Covid pandemic into perspective?
The media has the power to make small things big, and also to make big things practically disappear...

Perhaps a clue is that the politicians who insist on instituting mask mandates are shown, repeatedly, to not be too fond of actually wearing masks themselves. But whether they know better or just believe they are better, here’s reality: At best, mask mandates do nothing to reduce society-level coronavirus spread.
At worst, they lead to greater COVID-19 transmission and death.

Robert E Lee is one of very few cadets to pass through the US Military Academy at West Point without a single demerit. In the Mexican War General Winfield Scott called him "the greatest soldier I’ve ever seen.†As an Army Engineer he re-routed the Mississippi River and saved the city of St Louis. When he inherited slaves from his father in law, he educated them and set them free, and he referred to slavery as "a political and moral evilâ€. He turned down Lincoln’s offer to Command the US Army that would invade the South and his home State of Virginia even though leading that Army would have certainly brought him international fame and likely the presidency. He instead offered his sword to Virginia and fought against that invasion for four years leading an Army that was vastly outnumbered, out supplied and out fed. After the war, as the most beloved figure on either side of the war, he turned down all of the opportunities that would have enriched him by refusing to sell his family name. He chose instead to take a job with meager pay at Washington College because he knew that rebuilding the country meant that we needed to raise men of high honor and character. His first act as President of the College was to build a Chapel.
On Lee’s last visit to Richmond, a lady approached General Lee with an infant in her arms and asked "Would you please hold my baby?†General Lee took the child, looked the woman in the eye and said "you must teach him to deny himself.†Biographer Douglas Southall Freeman pointed out that this one statement characterized the entirety of how General Lee lived.
As the end of his life was approaching Robert E Lee was asked, with all of his accomplishments
That a monument to this man has been taken down is a monument itself. The barren space where his memorial stood is a testament to the depraved depths to which the morality and character of our society has fallen.

Energy is not just another product: it’s what makes modern civilisation possible. Pity our naive and uninformed young people don't understand this. Worse still, pity that our politicians haven't understood this but have instead pandered to the screechy voices of equally uninformed climate alarmists.

In the video below the first one, an ex-cop has a heartfelt message for police officers, particularly in Australia. I'll add that just as how cops don't ticket someone driving 31 in a 30 zone, they don't have to enforce unjust Branch COVIDian regulations. Call it police nullification.
Tim adds:
It's part of why the Left wants to take local control over the police away and have a national police force. They understand that local cops can choose not to enforce unjust laws.

The precedent set here could come back to bite us in the posterior. The Democrats will demand audits of every election they lose now that they know how it can be done. And since they always have more money thanks to all the dark money and the big tech giants they can bankrupt us in endless challenges. I think we had to do this because we cannot allow them to steal the country but it presents a serious long-term problem, methinks.
From Robert Barnes’ News of the Day list:
"3. As discussed last night on Bourbon w/ Barnes, the Arizona audit was a valuable tool for more than precedent it set of the public right to audit elections. There were major questionable ballots uncovered, insecure election processes exposed, and needed reforms proposed.â€

The media is reporting this as proof Biden won, not proof of massive fraud. It's disgraceful. But I knew it would be the way this would go - even Fox News, which of course called Arizona for Biden well before the vote was counted.
Maricopa County Auditors Conclude: ‘Election Should Not Be Certified’
'The number of
illegal ballots found in Maricopa County (more than 55,000) is over 4
times the current amount separating President Trump and Joe Biden...'
The ArizonaSenate Judiciary Committee on Friday released a 110-page forensic audit report on the 2020 presidential election, and the auditors concluded in an eight-page executive summary that "the election should not be certified, and the reported results are not reliable.â€
Cyber Ninjas, the company that conducted the forensic audit, identified "57,734 ballotsâ€â€”a conservative estimateâ€â€”that had "serious issues,†The Gateway Pundit reported.
"In the 2020 presidential election, the margin of victory was only 10,457 votes, a small fraction of the 57,734 ballots with known issues,†Cyber Ninjas stated. "Again, this is almost 6 times the margin of victory in the Presidential race and is multiples of the margin of victory in other races.â€
Cyber Ninjas found numerous types of impermissible votes, but most fell into three main categories: "improper voter registration, improper votes, and discrepancies in the registration.â€
The linked Gateway Pundit article states:
• Tens of thousands of ballots cast from individuals who had moved prior to the election and could not have physically received their ballots, legally.
• None of the systems related to elections integrity had numbers that would balance and agree with each other.
• The voter rolls and the registration management process itself have many data integrity issues. For instance, over 200 individuals were easily identifiable as likely being the same person but having two different Voter IDs and voting twice in the election.
• Without access to the County’s detailed records including personally identifiable information and registration systems it is more likely there were many tens of thousands of improper votes in the election from double voters, deceased voters, voters for which we can find no trace in the public records nor association to their voting address, moved voters, etc.
• Proper voter registration law and procedures were not followed.
• There were unexplained large purges of registered voters, right after the election, of people who had voted in the election.
• There was back dating of registrations, adjustments made to historical voting and voter records, unexplained linking of voter registration affidavits to multiple voters and more.
• Files were missing from the Election Management System (EMS) Server.
• Ballot images on the EMS were corrupt or missing.
• Logs appeared to be intentionally rolled over, and all the data in the database related to the 2020 General Election had been fully cleared.
• On the ballot side, batches were not always clearly delineated, duplicated ballots were missing the required serial numbers, originals were duplicated more than once, and the Auditors were never provided Chain-of- Custody documentation for the ballots for the time-period prior to the ballot’s movement into the Auditors’ care. This all increased the complexity and difficulty in properly auditing the results.
• There were substantial statistically significant anomalies identified in the ratio of hand-folded ballots, on- demand printed ballots, as well as a statistically significant increase in provisional ballot rejections for a mail- in ballot already being cast, suggestive of mail-in ballots being cast for voters without their knowledge.â€
But the mainstream media is claiming this proves Biden won. How is that?
No my friends; this was stolen, plain and simple.
