This and other intimidation tactics by the Democrats and their media stooges will not work.

I think there's a good lesson the Democrats could learn from the Chinese Communist Party. Xi Jinping and his minions have been attempting to bully the other countries of East Asia through violent rhetoric, even in some cases threatening to attack with nuclear weapons.

This has not caused China's neighbors to cower in fear. It has awoken them to the severity of the threat to their nations' survival, leading them to increase their military forces and to establish closer ties with their neighbors to create alliances of forces against their belligerent neighbor.

Bullying may sometimes be an effective tactic, but it's not succeeding for the CCP, nor will it succeed for the Democratic Party.



I disagree:

UNLESS...they actually start arresting protesters. Remember, the huge protest on January six? They have effectively killed any future protests by locking up people who were just in attendance without bail and no charges. We are becoming a police state. Biden is making that plain here.

Remember, the usurper Biden controls the power structure here. The Chicoms don't control the rest of Asia - yet.

Then the world can return to some mythical Eden where they (who will survive the depop because, well, they are superior and deserve it) will frolick in eternal bliss. Of course, the socialists (at least the inner core) understand this isn't so but it provides a tool to rebuild the world in a socialist fashion and promote their power. Squeezing energy means putting everyone under strict control. No unauthorized movement. And the eternal struggle for the necessities of life will make opposition to them impossible. That is what they did in the old Soviet Union; the long lines at stores and poverty was not a biproduct but a feature of the system, which kept the populace too busy to think or act.

The Media No Longer Informs

We have a media which no longer serves to inform the people.

NBC News has a piece that asks the question, "Covid immunity through infection or vaccination: Are they equal?” and then purports to answer it in the negative. It makes endless nonsensical statements in the process.

Such as saying that, "hospital workers are screened for measles and chicken pox antibodies to help prevent the spread of diseases,” despite the fact that the presence or absence of antibodies has nothing whatever to do with immunity and any medically trained person knows that. Immunity has to do with your immune system having been trained in how to make antibodies quickly, not on whether or not antibodies are present.

It does cite a "large study from Israel which showed better protection from infection than from vaccination,” but merely discards it by saying that Dr. Fauci has not yet given it his blessing. It cites no actual studies to the contrary, but merely quotes several doctors who claim without evidence (you see what I did there?) that natural immunity fades very quickly.

The article quotes a CDC spokesman who says that "current evidence shows a wide variation in antibody response after Covid infection.” As if antibodies had anything to do with immunity. They do not. They have to do with defense against a virus, but immunity is about the ability to produce antibodies quickly when needed.

Some doctor at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases is quoted as saying that a "massive effort is underway to determine what level of antibodies is protective,” which is about as absurd as another doctor’s statement that, "If you are not vaccinated you are going to get Covid.”

Places such as NBC News no longer believe in journalism; that much is obvious. It used to be that if you were given the job of writing about something, you were considered qualified to discuss the subject. That obviously isn't the case anymore, though we do still have some good journalists around. They just don't work for the alphabet networks.

Stop pretending Afghanistan catastrophe is anything but utter failure

Former National Security Advisor H. R. McMaster just testified in Congress, and he held nothing back. Frankly, I wasn't "sold" on this guy when Trump hired him, but it proves that The Donald knew a good man when he saw one. In his testimony, he really laid it on the line.

His first paragraph is a real lesson.

The catastrophe that is only beginning in Afghanistan, is the result of incompetence based in strategic narcissism, or the tendency for American leaders to define the world only in relation to the United States, and to assume that what they decide to do is decisive in securing a positive outcome.

But others, including adversaries and enemies, also enjoy authorship over the future. In Afghanistan, policies and strategies across two decades were based on what U.S. leaders preferred rather than what the situation demanded. Strategic narcissism led to self-delusion, and self-delusion provided a rationale for self-defeat.

A fundamental lesson of Afghanistan is that wars are interactive and that progress in war and diplomacy is never linear. That is why the war in Afghanistan and the broader war against jihadist terrorist organizations is not over; it is entering a new, more dangerous era. Containing the catastrophe in Afghanistan and learning from it will require U.S. leaders to confront the truth of our experience in Afghanistan and stop pretending.

Stop pretending that our surrender to the Taliban in February 2020 and subsequent concessions to that terrorist organization—which strengthened our enemies and weakened our Afghan allies—were not the principal reasons for a lost war and its consequences.

Nobody should get angry at anything Biden says because it's obvious his mind is completely shot to hell.

His statements since he became president are obviously all stuff that someone fed him.

His poll ratings are at record lows.

If there were anyone competent in high positions in the administration I wouldn't consider it that big a deal if the bulb has gone out on the guy at the top. But the fact that our military is run by clowns like Austin and Milley scares the bejeesus out of me.

On the plus side, most of "Biden"s foreign policy has been a continuation of Trump's. "Biden" seems to have, for example, given up on the senseless attempt to resurrect the Iran deal, and seems to recognize that a hostile stance toward an important ally like Saudi Arabia is untenable even if you object to some things about that country. Our international allies are doing a good job filling in for the His Vacancy and keeping things on track around the world. The main thing that concerns me is not having anyone in charge in case of an international crisis, the most likely of which is an invasion of Taiwan.

When it comes to domestic affairs, the Democratic Party is a complete dumpster fire, although it would be no better or worse if someone else were in the White House. In fact, having His Vacancy and the Vice President that nobody including Democrats wanted are positives for our country compared to if we had Democrats in charge who were able to convince the public that they had some degree of competence. The Democrats' insane legislative agenda would be faring better if their party weren't so low in the public approval ratings currently.

I do not believe Biden is running anything or ever was. This is the Obama Administration with Biden as figurehead.

And I do not believe what we are seeing is random or accidental. The people running Biden know what they are doing but are restrained by political realities. They will move to the edge then back away in time for the elections.

The Night of the Big Wind (Irish: Oíche na Gaoithe Móire) was a powerful European windstorm that swept across what was then the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, beginning on the afternoon of 6 January 1839, causing severe damage to property and several hundred deaths; 20% to 25% of houses in north Dublin were damaged or destroyed, and 42 ships were wrecked. The storm attained a very low barometric pressure of 918 hPa (27.1 inHg) and tracked eastwards to the north of Ireland, with gusts of over 100 knots (185 km/h; 115 mph).
The storm developed after a period of unusual weather. Heavy snow, rare in Ireland, fell across the country on the night of 5 January, which was replaced on the morning of 6 January by an Atlantic warm front, which brought a period of complete calm with dense, motionless, cloud cover. Through the day, temperatures rose well above their seasonal average, resulting in rapid melting of the snow.
Later on 6 January, a deep Atlantic depression began to move towards Ireland, forming a cold front when it collided with the warm air over land, bringing strong winds and heavy rain.
By midnight the winds reached hurricane force. Contemporary accounts of damage indicate that the Night of the Big Wind was the most severe storm to affect Ireland for many centuries. It is estimated that between 250 and 300 people lost their lives in the storm.
Newspapers surmised that 250,000 trees were destroyed, and folklore accounts indicate that the storm further altered the landscape by prompting the building of sturdier rural housing. A total of 42 ships, most along the less sheltered west coast, were wrecked while unsuccessfully trying to ride out the storm.
Stacks of hay and corn were widely destroyed, resulting in severe starvation among livestock in the following months.
The Night of the Big Wind became part of Irish folk tradition. Irish folklore held that Judgment Day would occur on the Feast of the Epiphany, 6 January. Such a severe storm led many to believe that the end of the world was at hand.

P.S. January 6, 2014, Ireland faced almost the same kind of a storm caused by a "sting jet”.
"Sting jet” is a jet of air which builds up several kilometres above the ground before descending over three or four hours in a "crescent moon” shape. It accelerates to more than 160 km/h and can be exacerbated by snow or rain cooling it as it descends.
During the storm the Kinsale gas platform off the Cork coast was hit by a 25m high wave. Shannon Airport recorded a maximum gust of 160km/h on that day.
Up to 7.5 million trees were blown down – between 5,000 and 7,000 hectares of forestry - which was about one per cent of the national total.

I have long suspected fusion is not going to be a viable option. The sun is a great source of fusion but only because of it's mass and density. We are trying to replicate that in a small space, and that requires large amounts of power to do so. Yes, we can get it to work, but it will never be economically viable energy, methinks. It's a false path, like wind and solar. How much time and money have we wasted on this will-o-the-wisp

that could have been used to make fourth generation fission or MHD systems? And going with EV's will only make our problems worse (which is the point I suspect; the governments want us to stop driving and learn to love their crappy public transportation. )

"Wales is to become the first UK nation to make teaching Black, Asian and minority ethnic histories and experiences mandatory in the school curriculum.”

The truth is that there is virtually no Black or Asian history to teach in Wales, or the rest of the U.K. prior to the 1950s.

If you talk about Black or Asian people in these places before that decade, you are highlighting a tiny handful of instances whilst ignoring masses of more relevant history.

And you are doing this because you are obsessed with race. Because you can’t accept the historical realty that diversity in a racial sense and involving black and Asian people is a relatively recent change.

It’s not hateful to know that the demographics of the past were different. It probably is motivated by hate to pretend that they weren’t.

At one and the same time these lessons will be saying:

1/Focusing on race is hateful and wrong, which is why we are focusing on race.

2/Everyone black and Asian was oppressed in the past because they were a minority in an overwhelmingly white nation, but the overwhelmingly white nation was actually full of all these interesting and wonderful black and Asian people who have always been there.

And none of the people designing these lessons will have the intelligence or the honesty to notice these contradictions.

Of course they will also be teaching every white kid in Wales to hate themselves.

There is no reason to specify black or Asian history in Wales, because for the entire history of Wales hardly any of it existed. Just as there would be no reason to prioritise white history in China, except for a desire to denigrate the majority of the Chinese in the past, and the majority of the Chinese there today.

They are of course proud of their hypocritical racism. Far prouder than they are of, well, Wales. Children who have never heard of Owen Glendower will hear about some previously obscure person who was, for instance, the first black postman in Wales.

Nailed it! When I was in college in the '80's the big push was on for "multiculturalism" which was the greatest thing since sliced bread, or so they told us. I remember when I realized what they were talking about; not about celebrating other cultures but about creating nations within nations - in short balkanizing the country (this is the U.S.; it probably came to Britain earlier). It was a terrible idea then and I don't for a minute believe they didn't know it was. I have since concluded it's purpose is divide and conquer; they want us at each-others throats so they can take power while we are distracted. And it's working beautifully from their perspective.

Climate Insanity

Is anyone awake out there? Not in Vancouver where the council is proposing "climate emergency parking permits" (a tax grab with a sanctimonious name). The XR spinoff "Insulate Britain" are glueing themselves to motorways to take "action on climate change" stating that anyone who dies trying to get to hopsital is "colateral damage".

Meanwhile, all reference temperature datasets show a decline in planetary temperatures over the last five years, Antarctica is at record lows since records began, and Europe is scrambling for coal and gas in the face of an expected cold winter and poor performance from wind and solar facilities. They are stockpiling fossil fuels in Asia while we blockade pipeline builds in Canada.
