It is generally illegal. Most states have laws called Preemption laws, which "prevent local governments from enacting any additional regulations on firearms or ammunition beyond state law" (quoting from the latest issue of "America's 1st Freedom," one of the monthly NRA magazines).

Unfortunately, the article in the NRA magazine does not list the eight states that still do not have preemption laws, so I can't determine if Illinois is one of them. New York State is one (no surprise there).

As you might guess, a state with weak, or no, preemption laws can be a nightmare for carry permit holders to carry in. "Such a system, where a simple trip to the grocery store could involve three or four different regulatory regimes, is a potential trap for every gun owner in America."

6. Foment unnecessary strikes in vital industries, encourage civil disorders
and foster lenient and soft attitudes on the part of the government towards such disorders.

C. Cause the registration of all firearms on some pretext with the view of confiscating them and leaving the population helpless.

While the left-wing Snopes calls this a hoax and its origins probably are, the fact is that when this thing turned up in 946 in a Brisih publication called the New World News. The "rules" were allegedly published in the Bartlesville, Oklahoma Examiner-Enterprise in 1919, but no evidence of their existence has been found.

But so what? Clearly the creators of the "rules" were prescient about how the Left works this stuff, even if it didn't formally come from the Communist Party. It is the exact course Europe has taken and now the U.S.

Alien Caravan; Never Let a Good Crisis go to Waste

About the caravan of Central Americans, is this not a perfect opportunity for Donald Trump to declare a state of emergency on the border and send the military? Trump can start building the wall in response to this and while the Left will howl they are going to be hard pressed to argue against it.

Trump has threatened to cut off aid to Mexico and Central America and he should, but he can really make lemonade from these lemons here, and America can benefit from it.

This caravan, by the way, is strongly homosexual/transgendered and is a follow up to last years gay caravan.

By the way, ICE is picking up Bengladeshi coming into the U.S. illegally from Mexico. Bengladesh is an Islamic country.  I wonder why they are doing this?

At the end of the article, Prager talks about his new book (The Rational Bible: Exodus) commenting on The Book of Exodus ("Shmot" in Hebrew, meaning "Names" in English) and Prager's book's bestseller status on Amazon.com. He states people's hunger for religious values is the cause of its bestseller status. I was looking at the preview intro, online at Amazon.com, where there are three brief comments directed to Jewish, Christian and atheist readers. In the comment directed toward Christians, I learned that none less than the great Jewish philosopher Maimonides said 900 years ago, Christians have been primarily responsible for the dissemination of Torah knowledge in the world. That Prager mentions this 900 year old comment, he is implying that this is still true today.

The book is 600 plus pages long.

A big advocate of "necklacing" in which a tire full of gasoline was placed around the necks of suspected "traitors" or "collaborators" - meaning anyone who opposed her revolutionary activiities - was then set on fire and the person immolated in horrible fashion.

In short, she was a monster. We should not be surprised that South Africa is now becoming a Zimbabwean hellhole, with whites being rounded up like cattle.

No, I didn't go. It was yesterday and Martha and I were entertaining at suppertime, which meant I had to help with the cooking. Plus, we played two church services in the morning, which meant the alarm clock roused us from sleep at 5:30, and we were not very rested.
