The Demo-Left is trying to claim gas prices are at an all-time high and that they were in fact lower under Joe Biden when they were six bucks or even seven in some places for a time. One of the big things they do is compare gas prices NOW with gas prices when they were at their best under Biden.
It's a cute trick, only even then it is dead wrong.
Here is an article that blows that lie right out of the water.
If we adjust for inflation Biden's best gas prices were shockingly higher than Trump's worst.
From the article:
At the top of the report, Reuters says "The price of a gallon of regular gasoline has averaged $3.472 since Trump took office almost two years ago, edging out the $3.471-per-gallon average for Biden’s term, according to data from the AAA.”
CNN and other news outlets ran the same story.
But there’s a big, hairy, audacious problem with those numbers. They don’t take inflation into account, which is the only way to make meaningful price comparisons over several years.
What happens when you do that?
We got monthly gasoline price data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration. Like AAA, it shows that the average nominal price of gasoline is a tiny bit higher so far under Trump II than it was under Biden — $3.451 vs. $3.446.
But account for inflation, and you get the opposite answer. The average inflation-adjusted price for gasoline under Biden was $3.89 a gallon. So far in Trump’s second term, prices have averaged $3.52 a gallon.
That means the average real price for gasoline under Trump is 10% below what it was under Biden.
Incredibly, Reuters admits that its headline is bogus, but only for those readers who make it past the sensational opening paragraphs.
So gas prices once adjusted for inflation are lower now than during the Biden era. Will wonders never cease!
The article continues:

So, under Trump - in the middle of two major wars involving two prime oil producers and also involving the blockage of the oil transport routes, Trump is beating Biden by 10%, a Biden Presidency that saw peace in the world and the rising production of American oil and gas. Trump's prices are high from circumstances largely beyond his control while Biden's was high by choice, as he advocated the Green New Deal and other environmentalist nonsense and wanted the price of oil and gas to be high - he came right out and said it once during the debate with Trump.
And Trump was saddled with Biden's inflation at the same time.
So if any liberal uses this shibboleth slap them down hard; Biden did not preside over lower gas prices, quite the opposite. Biden wrecked everything; he was like an out-of-control wrecking ball, smashing America everywhere. Or I should say the Autopen was; it's clear Biden was not calling the shots - someone else was.
Claims Biden had ANYTHING better than Trump are a damnable lie.
