The trailers look absolutely dreadful, with Supergirl being a smart-aleck feminist. (Supergirl was always a lame attempt at a woman superhero anyway.)
If they had made her a proud American and exemplifying American values this movie would have succeeded, in all likelihood. But it's bombing because it appears to have eschewed America for - something else.
Meanwhile Disney's latest effort at woke multiculturalism Moanna is crashing and burning
Tje film, a live action version of a Disney animated film from 2016, drew about as much money as did the disaster that was the new Snow White at the box office.
Disney simply refuses to accept that the public doesn't want woke. In fact, the public wants the old America back, when films acknowledged God and Country and good moral values. We are getting none of that out of Disney or any Hollywood production.
Part of the reason is that China funds a lot of the films we see now. And many more are shot up in Canada, which offers tax incentives.
Part though is just that filmmakers and the Nazis at Disney in particular believe in the Great Reset and make movies designed to influence people to accept the socialist worldview.
That isn't popular. But parents often take their kids to see such tripe anyway because they are desperate for some "family friendly" films, even if they wind up being disgusting.
America sells - rewarmed leftovers full of political correctness do not.
P.C. has destroyed whatever creativity that once existed in Hollywood. Now all they can do is rework older stuff with a p.c. spin. Socialism always drains any nation of talent.
I remember when I was in college in the eighties and we would translate speeches by Gorbachev for my Russian class. He was always going on about the need for greater creativity; The U.S.S.R. had lost all creativity because the socialist system in place stifled it. Glasnost was Gorbachev's attempt to reignite that spark of creativity that he knew lay dormant. But who will create in a place that will destroy you if you do and it doesn't please your overlords? Hollywood is much the same; they don't kill you outright, just erase you with cancel culture. In the end you may as well be dead when you are blacklisted and wind up taking a job at QuikTrip.
The success of movies like Young Washington show there is a huge market for good, pro-American entertainment. Sadly Hollywood has plugged it's ears.

I refer to modern television drama, and comedy, as "the great American desert." I still watch a few shows, and am constantly am trying to figure out which is worse, the scripting or the acting.

Wholeheartedly agree with THAT sentiment Bill! T..V. is absolutely dreadful these days. And anything that is even remotely good is now on subscription so you have to pay extra for it.
Now I hear they are going to eliminate antenna t.v. entirely and all television will be pay. Right now There are mostly older not so good movies that they run on the cable I pay a hundred and forty bucks for or the endless reruns of The Big Bang series, which is on every channel almost continuously because they have nothing else. Vast wasteland is right!
Oh, and Marvel Comics owns several channels too. Pathetic that a bunch of make-believe people wearing underwear and capes flying around is the best we can do in our modern civilization.
And all the fake reality shows. There are like three of them about dwarves alone!
