The Earth's interior is shockingly different from any other planet's and no doubt that has a profound impact on the Earth's surface and our climate.
Venus, despite being the same size as Earth and still being in the liquid water band, is extraordinarily different than our own world, and that is in no small part because it is quite different geologically. It has no magnetic field. rotates very slowly and backwards. It has an extremely thin crust and no plate tectonics. The result is the planet couldn't hold it's water and its interior outgassed vast amounts of carbon dioxide and sulfur compounds.
It's perhaps the least habitable of all the terrestrial planetary bodies, despite being Earth's "twin".
I suspect ultimately those differences stem from internal differences. Venus zigged when it should have zagged.
