Soom good immigration news.

First, an immigration panel is restricting asylum claims by those claiming "gender based violence" to be given allowed to immigrate to the U.S.

The Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) says sex alone is not sufficient grounds to be granted asylum "sex is not a social group". Up until now a woman or a transsexual could simply say they were victims of domestic abuse and be allowed into the U.S. without question. Now there has to be proof of some other systematic oppression that justifies immigrating.

Second, the overall foreign born population in the U.S. has dropped by 2.2 million, proving self-deportation actually workds. A lot of these foreign borrn are here to milk what they can from the U.S. economy and now the atmosphere isn't so solicitous of aliens. So they are going back where they belong.

The illegal population alone has dropped 1.6 million since January.

Granted we have a long way to go; at least 22 million illegals and probably much more (as high as 40 million.) But it's a start. Well begun is half done.
