Judson Phillips forwards this:
My arteries are hardening just looking at this.
A word from Tim:
That's like something the Soviets would have invented to use as a bioweapon against us!

Fried chicken is certainly food. It is really good food. A fried chicken sandwich is not food. It is, at best, fodder. It is an offense to epicurian sanity, even if it is made with some sort of bread. Fried chicken should be accompanied with bisquits, and they should be on the side, buttered and possibly with honey, and eaten in separate bites.
It is utterly uncivilized to serve fried chicken with donuts, let alone between two of them.

I never did get the waffle craze; too much sugar added to too much starch to your fried chicken.
I never did like to play dress up with my food; there is a natural order to food, and some things just are against Nature and Nature's God. There's a place around my house which fries chicken in what tastes exactly like funnel cake batter! It's an abomination from Hell!

Listen. My grandmother grew up on a plantation in Milliken's Bend, Louisiana. She worked for a couple of decades as dietician at Louisiana State University. Geaux Tigers. I grew up eating her fried chicken and, even better, that made by my uncle's cook in Shreveport, who called me "Mister William." When she knew I was coming she went out and bought extra chickens.
I have never seen fried chicken and a waffle on the same plate in my entire life.

I read once that actually it was a New York City thing; it captured the cusp diners who worked graveyard shift. Maybe.
