Not sure what Rasmussen is doing but these results are almost certainly wrong - and have been.

I'd like to know who all these people are who disapprove of Trump (outnumbering those who approve, according to the poll). Trump has been very successful and the economy is doing well enough.
Here is the last few polls:

I do not believe for one moment that Trump is at minus nine approval.
Of course, polling has become completely unreliable in the era of cell phones and other such things. Liberals find ways to cheat the system.

At any rate ths poll found 48% of Americans approve of the job Trump is doing while 51% disapprove as of yesterday. How can anyone disapprove? What has he done, or hasn't done, to generate such opposition? Bear in mind Democrats make up less than a quarter of the population. This makes no sense.

Keep in mind that there are lots of curmudgeons like myself who do one of two things: either lie on polls, tell them the opposite of the way they really feel, like a friend of mine does -- or do like I do, which is when I get a phone call from a Caller ID I don't recognize, I kick it directly to voice-mail, where pollsters will hang up.

And there is the Wilder Effect which is where people lie to pollsters to tell them what they think thepollsters want to hear. Trump was so vilified over the last eight years many people probably fear saying he's doing well because they fear being disapproved of by the caller.
