This is a terrible idea that will likely get struck down. On the other hand Trump may well have no intention of actually issuing the ban - just using it to further fracture the Democrats. Imagine how David Hogg will feel about this!
Still, I hate to stop making the argument for the sanctity of the right to bear arms; if you ever give an inch to the Left they will take a mile.
But it will be fun watching the Democrats twist and squirm on this issue.

Considering that David "Publicity" Hogg hates guns in anybody's hands, I imagine he will love the idea; except that he also hates Trump, so he'll hate the idea.
It reminds me of the Asimov story where a robot lied to Susan Calvin and she found out about it, and she killed it by putting it in a situation where it was in a mental Third Law block.

I remember that story. It was named Liar!
Lying was the only way the mind-reading robot could follow the First Law successfully. But in the end the lies caused harm so it destroyed the machine.
