What is Trump smoking?
Trump suggests US could be 'associate member' of British Commonwealth
At most, it should be the other way around and Britain should seek to join the American commonwealth of nations (which includes Puerto Rico and a few niggling islands.) Better yet we steer clear of Britain, which is a dying entity, lest it infect us further.
One of the things that membership in the Commonwealth requires is that citizens of member nations have free and unfettered travel rights within the entire Commonwealth. That means they can come without a visa. Given the Islamization of Britain do we really want to allow Brits to come here without restrictions?
There's more. Here's an overview of Commonwealth membership.
FTA:
[...]
and acknowledge His Majesty King Charles III as the Head of the Commonwealth
[...]
We help to strengthen governance, build inclusive institutions and promote justice and human rights. Our work helps to grow economies and boost trade, empower young people, and address threats such as climate change, debt and inequality.
[...]
Our work supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Agreement on Climate Change.
Do we really want to join Oceania? Does this sound like something America should be doing?
We fought a revolution to kick Britain out of America. Trump is now proposing we submit to her again.
Trump may not be serious about this, although I sure don't know what his angle is. Perhaps he's trying to splinter Britain from the E.U.? They are still pretty much under the thumb of Brussels these days. But we are a different people than are they and we don't need the commonwealth. In the end we'll just end up carrying the whole rotten thing.
Trump needs to get some sleep; he's getting slap-happy.

Still, you're right about the U.K. being way too Islamicized for my tastes!
