Trump Plans Rollback of Incandescent Light Bulb Ban
Dana Mathewson
In a "Report That Makes You Go 'YAY,'" The Trump administration is preparing to repeal an Obama-era rule
effectively outlawing a wide swath of popular lightbulbs, The Washington
Post reported Wednesday.
Tammy Bruce's site reports:
Great news!
The ban against regular light bulbs was started under George W Bush, and was expanded under Obama.
The "old†light bulbs give a softer, warmer light, IMHO. And if the
government won’t allow us to choose the kind of bulbs we want to have in
our homes, what’s next? A ban on plastic straws?
Oh wait…
I'll tell you, folks, plastic straws I can live without, but the plain old incandescent bulbs were, well, a mark of civilization!
I'm going to go crack open a beer to celebrate this one!
I'll be even happier when it's confirmed.
Of course, it's not all it's cracked up to be. We can still get
incandescents up to 60 watts, which means you won't totally destroy your eyes.
But there are applications where you really NEED 100W or even 150W bulbs. Like,
my laundry room.
And I really, really wish those bulbs would last as long as those
from my childhood. Changing bulbs every four weeks is, well, annoying. Maybe
it's because Mexico builds cheap bulbs?
