Trump Orders Up a Big Helping of General Tso's Pork

Timoth Birdnow

Dpmaal Trump ignited a firestorm when he said he would allow 600,000 Chinese nationals to have student visas. Conservatives were furious (such as myself) at Trump, who long campaigned for reducing the influence of China in our culture.

Trump defended his policy thusly:

"President Xi would like me to come to China. It's a very important relationship. As you know, we are taking a lot of money in from China because of the tariffs and different things,"

"I hear so many stories about ‘We are not going to allow their students,’ but we are going to allow their students to come in,. We are going to allow it. It's very important — 600,000 students."

"We're honored to have their students here,"

And yet China's entire technology base is built on stolen American tech. And they have stolen it by sending students here to act as spies, students who are taking college spots that should rightly go to Americans. There is no good reason to allow the Chinese to be educated here.

Trump argued the schools need their money. Yeah; like Harvard really needs it!

In fact universities have been enjoying a boom time for decades at taxpayer expense, as well as with the massive influx of Chinese. They don't need Chinese money and they don't deserve Chinese money and all this does is give these leftist universities more money to use to fight against MAGA and the American People. We need to be defunding them, not subsidizing them.

Getting the aliens out of our society was a big part of why Trump was elected in the first place. America cannot be great if she continues to kowtow to foreign powers.

Trump is probably saying this because he is going to meet with Xi and he wants a carrot to go with his stick. Fine, but don't foreget who brung ya to the dance Donald!

The White House issued a "clarification" saying that the policy isn't being changed, this is the number that we already planned on letting in. If policy isn't going to change why did we elect Trump in the first place?

I am mindful of Ronald Reagan and the Law of the Sea treaty. Reagan refused to sign it and was told by the State Department "we've worked for years on this!" Reagan's answer was the election was about change and he was going to make those changes in policy his supporters demanded.

Now Trump HAS done that to a great deal, but he's also completely dropped the ball over several issues, and this is one of them. Appealing to business as usual is a serious mistake for a disrupter.

I hope the President rethinks this. These are not "students" so much as communist operatives and it's all about espionage and also taking things from America - jobs, education, etc. And as I said higher education doesn't need more money, they need to be defunded. We need to support alternatives for Americans and break the stranglehold the Ivy League has on our nation.
