Imagine what would happen if, say, a country like Afghanistan were to offer protection to, say, osama Bin Laden. How would we react? Oh, wait...

I rather wish Trump had promised to kick the living s(p)it out of Qatar over this. Until every terrorist is gone -- as you say. Qatar is no friend to us, or more importantly, to Israel.
