It's a terrible idea, especially as mixing human and animal DNA drastically increases the prospect for trans-species diseases. Every creature has it's own unique predatory diseases. Mix the DNA and you suddenly are on the menu. This could unleash unparalleled plagues on Mankind as species learn to appreciate new food.

I think transhumanism is a Pandora's Box and we are eagerly opening it.

Right. But then, nobody ever said we were smart. Way back when Eve trusted the serpent and ate the fruit, we've had this tendency to jump first and ask questions later.

So true Dana. If aliens ever visited here they undoubtedly left because they couldn't find any intelligent life.
If Eve had had any sense she would have fed the fruit to an animal first and seen what happened. But instead she tried it on not just herself but her weenie husband too.

No; if Eve ever had any sense she would have said "Adam and I will obey the commandment of the Lord and stay away from the fruit of this tree which is in the middle of the Garden. We will eat the fruits of all the other trees." Then she would have gotten Adam to stomp on the serpent -- hard.
