It recalls a true story that happened in the 1980s or 1990s that I read in a major business or news magazine (Business Week, Forbes, Newsweek?) but cannot find it now in an internet search.

There was an investor who bought shares in a new company that had glowing prospects, the female-appearing president of that company being, unkown to investors, a transgender "woman." After many financial manipulations were discovered and the stock lost most of its value, attornies found out that this "woman" president of the firm used to be a male fraudster with a record of shady activities. After their so-called sex change operation, this businessperson got a new identity WITH, IN ADDITION, the federal government's records for that person's previous activities not being transfered to the newly named person's records. So any previous fraudulent activities were, in effect, erased on that person's files. When the stock purchaser investigated the Securities and Exchange Commission's records for "Jane Doe," they found NO records of any frauds or other questionable practices in "her' history. Essentially, the gender reassignment also was allowed by the federal government to function as a cover up, an expunging, of any past shady activities. All this was done to the total detrement of the government's obligations to protect investors by keeping accurate records and links to any businessperson's past activities under a different name. I'm not sure if such privacy would have been granted by the government to a male fraudster who used multiple male names to bilk the public.

It seems that gender change political correctness is now attempting to become the "holy LBGTQ rights" basis which advocates want to use to overrule any other aspect of the public's legal protection against both murder and financial fraud.
