Pretty embarrassing to peruse the comments on your "progressive” friends’ pages, isn’t it? No matter if the topic ranges from how best to boil turnips to workout tips, the same shrieking, pathological self-hatred, loathing of one’s culture and nation, and trembling inquisitor-like finger-pointing will be elicited. What do normal liberals say—you know, among themselves when no one is listening—about these morose death-cultists having metastasized within their ranks?

It's interesting to note that the most "Progressive" part of the country - the northeast - was home to the Puritans and other extremely rigid religious seccts. They are no longer religious areas, and I suspect the same deeply judgemental religious fervor is now serving a new god, the Leftist Humanism that took over in these areas. So it makes perfect sense that finger pointing and raging against sinfulness like dancing or having an occasional beer has now turned to hatred of country and of neighbor. It's the same old anger and resentment but with new targets and a new twist. Actually, I suspect the Puritans and others were nowhere near as bad as they were constrained by Biblical admonitions while the Puritans sans Jesus are constrained only by their personal limits, which appear to be few.

They seem very much like them--same scowl, same critical-mass anger at life boiling within them, same hatred of humanity, same desperate desire to put their boots on other people's necks. Mirror images.
