The Trump that Shall Never Call Retreat

Kamala Campaign Manager Says She Plans to Kneecap Trump Presidency

OF COURSE they plan to sabotage Trump and make him as unsuccessful as possible. Fortunately I suspect Trump will be ready for that this time around.

The choice of Attorney General is all-important; Trump needs a man who will be completely loyal and at the same time squeaky clean. He needs someone doctrinaire, and someone willing to go after these people to the fullest extent of the law. Oh, and someone from outside the Swamp.

Might I suggest Missouri's attorney general Andrew Bailey? Bailey would probably jump at the chance and he's proven himself to be just the kind of AG that Trump needs. He's been a solid defender of middle America for several years now.

But if not Bailey there are plenty of other folks who would make great AG's; Jay Seculow and Jeanine Pirro are two names that come to mind. Maybe Ron DeSantis would agree to be AG? (Probably not but who knows? I would prefer to leave him in place for the next Senate election.)

But we cannot afford another Bill Barr or Jeff Sessions. Trump was twice suckered by the Swamp and paid a terrible price. Had Sessions not recused himself from the Trump investigation in the first place much of what we endured would have been short-circuited. But he handed the reins over to Rod Rosenstein, a deep-state guy, and thus we suffered endless investigations that tied Trump up in octopodal fashion. The Democrats will try this again; Trump needs to not fall for it.

In fact Trump should recruit from the state level as much as possible and bypass the Washington Beltway dwellers entirely. He was elected by Middle America - he should have an administration that is made up of Middle America.

One thing is certain; we need a real fighter at the helm in the AG's office, a COMPETENT fighter. The Democrats are going to double down on lawfare; so should we.

A side point; it is perhaps time for Clarence Thomas to step down, now while Trump has the ability to appoint a replacement. Thomas is 76 years old - younger than Trump, certainly, but he'll either be retiring or dying in dure course and we don't want him to go at an inopportune time as did Antonin Scalia. We got very lucky, with Trump able to put Neil Gorsuch into office. But the Democrats lost Ruth Bader Ginsburg at a bad time from their perspective and would up with Amy Conehead Barrett, whom the Democrats despised. Granted, she's moved to the Left since taking her seat. But Trump had no way of knowing she would be so cozy with the statists in the "RBG seat".

I hate losing Thomas, I really do. But if we are to lose him eventually I most earnestly hope it is on our terms and not the Democrats.

1 A good Attorney General would be Andrew McCarthy, a lawyer who has held a number of positions and who has a keen legal mind. He's not a tremendous fan of Trump, but from all the articles he's written that I've read, I'm sure he'd be fair.

Another one is Jonathan Turley.

3 Dana, McCarthy has a fine legal mind. But he's too soft, in my view; like Tom Hagen in The Godfather he's not a "wartime consiglieri". The incoming AG needs to be a soldier and completely loyal to Trump.

I think McCarthy would be better suited to SCOTUS to replace Thomas.

Turley would make a good one too in normal times. But I think we need someone who will carry the fight to these tyrants.

How about Rudy Guilliani? Wouldn't THAT be fun! He was the guy who broke the Mafia after all as a prosecutor.

4 I love Rudy, but he's gotten himself in a whole pack of legal trouble and the way he's acting it's difficult not to think he's starting to get dementia. It's too complicated to go into here, now, but it looks like he's going down the same road as Joe Biden.

I've heard some other names mentioned in connection with the AG position; can't think of 'em at the moment.

Speaking of Thomas, have you heard the libs are suddenly talking about getting Sotomayor, the smart-ass Latina, to retire immediately so Joe Biden can name her replacement before Trump takes over? Somehow I don't see that working. Things don't move that fast in D.C.

5 You may be right Dana but it would be fun just to nominate him and watch the Democrats lose their minds. As a strategy it would be sound; nominate some throwaway candidate and let them launch a jihad, then nominate the guy you wanted all along and they can't do it twice.

Not sure what you are talking about with Guillianai and dementia; I rather suspect he's simply being taken out of context like they always do to Trump. But you may be right.

Yeah; I don't think Soto would step down now even under pressure. It would be delightful if Trump got to fill her vacancy (and get stop snickering; get your mind out of the gutter!).

Trump needs to Democrat-proof the Courts now. While I hope and pray Vance can win election in '28 we can't rely on that; the media will go to work on him and the public is fickle enough to vote for Josh Shapiro or some other Democrat in four years after they have forgotten how bad it was under Biden.  Trump's time is now and he needs to have far-reaching impact.
