The Democrats have gleefully accused the GOP in general, and conservative Republicans in specific, of being insurrectionist
And I have zero interest in being lectured about anything related to J6 by people like AOC, who lied about their experience, enhancing their terror with tall tales about their fears when they were not in the Capitol at the time. I suspect AOC was like David Hogg during the Parkland shooting – they both were adjacent to the action but were helped by a compliant media anxious to use them as willing pawns. I’ve never heard any member of the media express any interest in the exact location of either one of these two. These are, as far as I am concerned, a case of stolen valor by these people.
But I want to talk about a very real insurrection happening right before our eyes.
It began during Obama’s lame duck term when Cocaine Mitch used the Biden Rule, thank God, refusing to move Obama’s SOTUS nomination of the odious Merrick Garland forward.
Then Hillary shockingly lost to Donald Trump, and it became clear that Trump was going to give the Supreme Court a glitzy, Federalist Society makeover that would rival the splendor of any of his hotel projects. You may not like the glitter, but you sure as hell aren’t going to ignore it.
Trump faced an immediate vacancy created by the untimely death of Antonin Scalia, putting Neal Gorsuch up as his replacement. Then Anthony Kennedy retired, beginning perhaps the most contentious and disgusting nomination process since Clarence Thomas and Robert Bork (both Republican nominees, natch) when President Trump nominated Bret Kavanaugh.
The Senate Judiciary Committee Democrats engaged in open, no holds barred, warfare on Kavanaugh, disgracing themselves in the process and likely straining the health of Diane Feinstein and ending her career in the Senate. With rumors swirling about Ruth Bader Ginsberg’s health and vitality, they saw a real possibility that a Kavanaugh confirmation would put them at risk of losing the court for at least a generation, there was no limit to how far they would go, and to this day, they are still adamant that what was proven wrong about Kavanaugh is true and a stain on the court – when what they did in service of their ideological masters is the true stain.
Schumer openly made his infamous "release the whirlwind” threat aimed at Gorsuch and Kavanaugh, the first time in my memory an elected official directly attacked the integrity of the justices on the court.
And then what they feared the most happened in September of 2020 when Ginsberg, God rest her soul, died. They tried to invoke the Biden Rule on Trump, but since he was not a lame duck president, they couldn’t make it stick and Trump sealed a strong traditionalist majority on the court with the nomination and confirmation of Amy Coney Barrett.
Ever since then, the Democrats have tried to garner support to pack the court by adding justices, establish term limits for judges or constantly attacking the legitimacy of the court due to Trump’s three justices – but along with that, they have amped up the decade long attacks on Clarence Thomas, a black conservative they hate with the heat of a thousand suns. Now they have added Alito and Roberts to the legitimacy attacks because Alito authored the majority opinion in Dobbs which ended Roe and sent the abortion question back to the states – and Roberts is in the left’s crosshairs for holding fast to the Constitutional separation of powers and refusing to bend the knee to the preening and acidic rhetoric of Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries.
Now they have enlisted the shock troops at MSNBC, the Twitidiots, and some DNC paid, effete, privileged teenagers to stir up Gen Z’ers against SCOTUS, all of whom are proving themselves useful idiots in spouting all the talking points coming out of the Dem leadership in Washington.
They have all but convinced their mindless
followers that a conservative majority is inherently illegitimate, and
conservatives should always be required to be in the minority.
Imbeciles like Sheldon "The Notebook” Whitehouse are trying to drum up
support for Congress to exercise control over the Supreme Court by
passing legislation requiring a "code of ethics” – which I am told
could be done but the bigger constitutional issue is just who the hell
is going to enforce it when the constitutionali
Whether these attacks could ever be successful is beside the point, the goal is to get enough people to question the legitimacy of the Supremes to create a de facto state of illegitimacy.
And it seems to be working.
What Democrats never consider is the fallout from their short-sighted actions. They are like a kid who will do anything to get a second ice cream cone, never considering what comes next.
If they are successful in delegitimizing the Supreme Court, the way they have ruined every other foundational institution, where do we go from there? There is just no coming back from something like that. It is impossible to consider the right in America ever seeing a wave of Democrat justices as legitimate after the years influential Democrats openly tearing it down.
That, my friends, is the real insurrection.
And once nothing has legitimacy, that’s when the real fun begins.
