The Politics of Tantrum

The rats in the GOP are scurrying for cover:
U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D.

The events in Minneapolis are incredibly disturbing. The credibility of ICE and DHS are at stake. There must be a full joint federal and state investigation. We can trust the American people with the truth.
John Kasich

What’s happening in Minnesota is waking up the whole country. People don’t see justice or fairness, and doubling down isn’t going to work. It’s tearing the country apart.
Even James Comer called for law enforcement interruptus:

GOP Congressman James Comer Suggests Trump Should Pull ICE Out of Minneapolis: 'There's a Chance of Losing More Innocent Lives'
I once compared the GOP to a herd of buffalo confronted by wolves. I saw a nature program about buffalo in a national park in Canada and the wolves would come and there would be a standoff. The buffalo would line up facing the wolves and the wolves were clearly enjoying themselves, taking it easy, waiting for the inevitable. The buffalo, bigger, stronger, and probably at least as fast as the wolves, would eventually become skittish and then one would turn and run and the rest would make a break for it. The wolves knew this was coming and then would run down several of the slower animals. The GOP behaves just like the buffalo and the Democrats like the wolves. The Republicans are such cowards they break and run at the first sign of trouble, hoping to be eaten last. They could easily crush the Democrats just as the buffalo could easily crush the wolves, but they don't think that way. They have a loser's mentality, mere prey.
As Saul Alinsky said, if you push a negative long and hard enough it will break through and become a positive. The GOP always quite just before they can win.
In the next week or so we are going to be treated to all manner of polls "showing" Americans are disgusted and want ICE out. Americans WILL be disgusted but not necessarily at ICE, but the way the polls are set up they will guarantee this result and the Republicans will dutifully fall in line. Case in point;
This Newsweak article (I meant o do that) talks about a YouGov poll:
This most recent YouGov poll was taken on January 25, 2026. A total of 3,359 U.S. adults were surveyed.
It showed that 46 percent strongly or somewhat strongly support the abolition of ICE—34 and 12 percent respectively. Twelve percent of people responded that they were unsure, and 41 percent were opposed, with 10 percent somewhat opposing, and 31 percent strongly opposing.
Eight percent of Republicans strongly supported abolishing ICE, and 11 percent somewhat supported. 73 percent of Republicans were in opposition, with 13 percent somewhat opposing and 60 percent strongly opposing.
Support was strongest among Democrats, with 76 percent supporting abolishing ICE—62 percent supporting strongly, and 14 percent somewhat supporting.
This poll follows one taken between January 9 and January 12, shortly after the killing of Good. Support has surged among Republicans by four percentage points over a period of roughly two weeks.
Question; why should Republicans listen to these polls? The next election will tell us what the public really thinks. But this is designed to dispirit the Republican voters and to suppress our side, to get us to stay home in disgust. It works too oftentimes.
We can't win with this generation of politicians in our party. We must have not just Trump but a successor who is nearly Trump's equal, and we have to see the old guard Republicans retire or die off and replace them with MAGA. Despite how good it looks now for our prospects the fact is, and these riots bear this assertion out, we are still losing and will ultimately lose if we don't do EVERYTHING exactly right. We should never have gotten into this position but we did. This is what our backing of the Bush family and the Karl Rove wing got us.
There are only two ways to end this. One is with victory and the other is with total defeat. The Left is actually getting quite desperate and this is a measure of their desperation; they know the public hates illegal immigration and wants stricter law enforcement and they are risking THAT with this move. But to them it's worth it; they might disgust enough Republican voters and frighten enough Republican representatives to get our side to retreat, to back down. If we do that the public will see the GOP is all hat and no cattle, insincere. They will stay home in November. That is the only chance the Demoleft has. So they are going to pull out all the stops, and if people die in the process, well, you can't make an omelet without breaking a few eggs, eh?
It's the old playbook. Like Lucy with the football and our party of Charlie Browns will fall for it every time.
If the GOP does not grow a pair of Texas-sized danglies soon all will be lost.
BTW the ICE officer who shot this gun-toting clown was an eight year veteran and not some newbie. So much for "poorly trained" as the media keeps repeating.
Also, where is the concern for the people who have been murdered or raped by the illegals? I don't hear any of it. Ice isn't going after peaceful, law abiding illegals but rather against those who have committed crimes and have already been deported by law. Due process has already been served So why don't these clowns in Minnesota care about shootings in Chicago, in St. Louis, in all the major cities? They were fine with that but let a couple of people who are threatening ICE agents get killed and suddenly one life lost is too many.
What is happening in Minneapolis is what Marxists always do when fomenting revolution. It's an attempt to bully the average citizen into accepting their rule which promises order, nothing else. They break the system then offer the solution, which is giving them power. The public, worn out and sick of violence and strife, surrender to them. This is a violent version of the child who throws a temper tantrum in public until he gets what he wants. That is what Minneapolis is - a giant temper tantrum from the Left.
The only way to stop temper tantrums from children is to not reward them and to punish them. If we stop sending ICE to Minneapolis as many have suggested we reward this behavior and will get more of it elsewhere. ICE agents will never be safe again. Think about that.
