Crisis in Astrophysics. Some are proposing that Einstein and Newton were not entirely correct.
Physicist Pavel Kroupa publishes paper claiming that dark matter does not exist and that general relativity is not the right way to account for unexpected rotational speed of galaxies and other phenomena.
I'm no physicist but I don't believe dark matter exists either. It has never been observed and the accepted standard model of particle physics cannot account for it. IMO, what's incorrect are the relativistic calculations that could not explain certain phenomena so dark matter was postulated because Einstein cannot be wrong. Even in one jot or tittle.
What he and others are proposing is called MOND, MOdified Newtonian Dynamics, which replaces both Newtonian and relativistic physics. It is an alternative to the hypothesis of dark matter in terms of explaining why galaxies do not appear to obey the currently understood laws of physics.
