So far Musk's purchase of Twitter seems like a mixed bag.
He's fired a lot of destructive parasites on the staff.
But the content there seems like it is predominately establishment leftist rants which are even more psychotic than before
Tim adds:
As the good folks at Conservative Treehouse pointed out, there is no way Musk did not know what he was buying, not when he was spending the kind of money he spent. So he knew what he was getting into.
What is the point? Musk may well be there to restore confidence to a tool of the Deep State and little more.
People were leaving Twitter, in droves, and the public was getting wise to the dirty tricks they had been playing. So what do you do? If you are the CIA/NSA/FBI cartel you remove the top brass and bring in a reformer who makes some reforms in order to restore confidence, then you go back to business as usual slowly. I would add
Musk took the wind out of the sails of Donald Trump's Truth Social quite effectively. If the goal was to make Trump old news then this played into the hands of the Ruling Class.
Musk isn't known as a Conservative or ideological person in general. So why did he spend so much on so corrupt a company?
Remember, Musk has made his fortune by manipulating the rules, and scamming government programs and the like. Tesla was a model of parasitism on the programs designed to grow the "Green tech" market. Musk has always known how to manipulate the system. And he is beholden to that same system. He can ill-afford to really anger the Deep State.
We don't know what was said or done behind closed doors.
After stealing the '20 election something had to be done to restore the cover for the government-run system of corruption. That meant a "reform" at an outlet like Twitter that would be more cosmetic than anything else.
I've never trusted Musk. And while things look good I think the way Musk is operating is suspicious. I am full of a very healthy dose of skepticism about him.

Musk can now be used as a diversion while they operate in the dark. And they can claim some sort of parity by saying Musk is a right wing zealot and not just opening the platform. And of course it gins up enthusiasm for the Democrats.

Another of my favorite Chesterton quotes is that "a capitalist is a communist with a bigger paycheck.".
He meant by that a crony style capitalist, the big corporate type, not the enterpreneur. Chesterton was into what was called Distributism, which emphasizes small businesses and limited government. The big "Capitalists" are little more than Fascist economic types and are not at all about free markets.
