The Land You Should Flee

First they came for Popodopoulis
but he didn't mean a whole heckuva lot to us
Then they came for General Flynn
we just sighed and scratched our chinny, chin, chin
Then they came for Roger Stone
But we were too busy with texts on our phone
Now they've come for Donald Trump
and they expect us all to play the chump
Time after time we've gotten the burn
when will we ever learn?
They wage their war on America's soul
we must be grateful for their niggardly dole
and do not complain or you'll rot in a hole
The "land of the free" is no longer for thee
It's becoming a place you should flee

My wife came along with me to my Friday night big band gig, and ended up sitting across the table from a fellow who had come here from (are you ready?) Ukraine back in the 1960s. He said he'd seen all this crap before!
