The House and Popular Vote

Timothy Birdnow

In the battle for the U.S. House of Representatives the Democrats have picked up no fewer than 16 House seats since the election with the GOP picking up none. The GOP is three seats away from the majority but the Democrats are sweeping the contested seats. Now why do you suppose that is, and why do you suppose it's taken them so long to count?

If the Democrats win the House everything comes back - the investigations, the bogus charges, all of it. And Trump won't be able to get the money or laws he needs to enact his program. Deportations? Forget about them! Rebuild the military Mr. Biden wasted? Not gonna happen. Keeping the tax cuts? Hasta Lavista Baby!

Yes, Mr. Trump will accomplish a lot despite the Democrats, but his program will all be enacted through executive orders - orders that can be rescinded by the next President as Mr. Biden erased Trump's over the last four years (thank you Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell for that!) If the Democrats control the House they will be able to stymie Trump. That is why they are desperately trying to steal it as we speak - and sadly it looks like the GOP lost focus immediately after Trump won and they may well pull it off.

The Republicans are rank amateurs at politics. It's painful, like watching a rather poor college football team go up against the Kansas City chiefs.

One thing is certain, if we let them steal the House things will look very different than otherwise.

Also, the Democrats are trying to manufacture enough votes to make it appear Harris won the popular vote. That would be huge; it would justify another "RESIST!" action and they could call Trump illigitimate. They have every reason to stuff the boxes now.

We have to stop them.

1 Republicans are not "rank amateurs," Tim, they don't care. When they get into office they never, ever undo the mess that their Democrat predecessors made. If you stop and think about it, they often assisted in making those messes. That's why the state of this nation has so consistently gone from bad to worse. Democrats screw things up and Republicans never, in any significant way, unscrew anything.

2 I stand corrected Bill.

You are right; they don't want to fix anytthing. They are there to skim what they can from the top and pretend to be an opposition so they can stay in place to keep scamming America.

I've often said our political system is like a pro-wrestling match; it's a morality play with bad guys and good guys and lots of wrangling but the outcome is predetermined by and large. That's why they so hate Trump - he doesn't follow the script.
