Students at Boston University, Brown, Northwestern, Harvard and the University of North Carolina said they were planning walkouts or rallies as well.

At Columbia, the new protest camp is still officially a breach of university rules. Some of the chants heard — "We don’t want no Zionists here” and "Israel is a racist state” — are ones that Shafik suggested were creating "a harassing and intimidating environment for many of our students.” But there seemed to be a lull in enforcement, at least for the moment, as university administrators considered whether to suspend and arrest even more students for participating in a movement that clearly has considerable campus support.

Imagine if the opposite were true and Muslim students were being harassed on campus and protests calling for the extermination of Arabs were ongoing there. Somehow I suspect these universities would do whatever it took to end this. The dirty little secret is these kids didn't come up with this on their own. They were taught this by the same people who now fail to act to secure the safety of Jewish students and allow the destruction of private property. They WANT this, just don't want it getting too far out of hand and thus causing a backlash - especially in charitable endowments from alum.
