Here is the story of the genesis of slavery in the U.S. and the first slave - John Casor.
It's a story rarely told because it does not comport with the myth. The first slave owner was a black man, showing that Africans had slaves themselves and did not think it at all unusual. This flies in the face of the current belief that only White Men held slaves.
Also, this story admits that slavery was common in the European colonies and not somehow born in the English colonies - a claim often made by the BLM types who try to make it appear we created it from whole cloth in Virginia and the Carolinas. We did not; the Spanish and Portuguese and Dutch all practiced it before it came to our shores here. In fact slavery was far more prevalent in Brazil than in the British American colonies.
