The Eve of Destruction

Timothy Birdnow

Maybe there is something to the "Trump has gone mad" mantra from the Left after all.

U.S. Special Envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg Says President Trump Has Authorized NATO Strikes Against Moscow

From Conservative Treehouse:

To wit, President Donald Trump has authorized NATO member states to deploy offensive missile systems into non-NATO Ukraine, provided by the U.S. In the latest development, U.S. Special Envoy for Ukraine General Keith Kellogg has announced Ukraine has the authority to launch those missile systems deep into Russia, including Moscow.

According to General Kellogg, President Trump is authorizing NATO to strike Moscow with U.S. missiles, launched from Ukraine. How is Ukraine not a proxy war between NATO and Russia.

That would mean doomsday, ragnarok, armageddon, the end of days. Has he completely lost his marbles? Or is this a rather desperate bluff?

Sundance says what I am thinking:

Look at this issue from the perspective of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The U.S. provides the missiles. The U.S. approves the missile locations in Ukraine. The U.S. authorizes the targets of the missiles from their location. NATO provides the satellite guidance system. Ukraine targets Moscow and launches the missiles.

How is President Trump not directly responsible for a NATO proxy war against Russia?

The only way for President Trump to make the ‘accountability monkey’ jump now, is to exit NATO.

The reason why the EU member states of NATO want escalated war with Russia is financial and economic. Through policy and ideology, the EU/NATO members have walked themselves into an economic dead end. They are out of assets to leverage. The only way out for the EU/NATO leadership is to create a war to erase debt, expand assets and reset the economics.

He's right although it's more than just economics and debt and whatnot; it's about the internationalist dream, the dream of the folks at Davos and the World Economic Forum and the fools who brought us the European Union. It is about the creation of a "rules based order" or as we call it the New World Order, with world government and international socialism. The Europeans have long dreamt of this, especially afer the two world wars and the Cold War, and Russia forms it's own power block outside of the corrupting influence of the European elites. They want to remedy that situation. so they seek to exhaust and destroy the power of Moscow (which itself seeks power but in the old fashioned way).

And the European elites are crazy enough to think they can get away with this. Trump has, until now, been the adult in the room.

I once saw the musical Cabaret at the Fox Theatre in St. Louis. There was a line in the show that was pertinent to this situation:

(I paraphrase) "Berlin is like a bunch of children in a basement egging each other on to crazier and crazier things and wishing an adult would come down to stop them." (I don't know if this was the exact line but it's close enough.)

That's basically what Europe has been doing for some time now. It has been the U.S. that has restrained them. (BTW the U.S. has been doing the work of the Lord in restraining the coming of the AntiChrist and Armageddon by being the adult "he who restrains" as is mentioned in 2 Thessalonians 2:6–7.) But America has slowly turned away from God and has had her candle sticks removed from her lamp stands and now no longer restrains the forces that will bring doom.)

If Trump gives the go-ahead to attack Moscow, even indirectly, he is opening the door to nuclear war.

In fact, this is a most frightening time as almost all of the Biblical prophecies of the end times are present and could fall in on us at any second.

But even if one does not believe in the Bible, or in prophecy, or in God for that matter simple logic should tell us this is the most dangerous situation we've been in since the Cuban Missile Crisis, and perhaps even more dangerous than that. We are balanced on a knife's edge and the President has just turned on a big fan.

BTW Keith Kellogg was and is a liberal and internationalist. He should never have been appointted to that position.

Perhaps Moscow won't launch if the Ukrainians use our weapons with our blessibg, but the chances are good they will at least respond in kind. What will we do then? If Russia strikes Poland or the Zech Republic - or Germany - we will have to retaliate. Then the big one comes.

This is a time for prayer.

1 If it were anybody else, I'd go for your "gone mad" assumption. But remember that, from the beginning, Trump has played 3D chess and kept everybody guessing. This has got to be another instance of that, and everyone will take it that way. Yes, they will shudder, and look over their shoulders, as they should. But do you really think they will take it as permission to launch missiles?

I don't. And have I ever been wrong? I mean about big stuff like this? As I was saying to Kamala the other day...

2 Dana, I hope you are right and suspect you arre. Trump is probably following the dictates of Sun Tzu "deception is the essence of warfare". But on the other hand just by saying such a thing he's perhaps greenlighting the Europeans who WANTthis.

As I say Trump MAY be simply maneuvering as a negotiating tactic. But then maybe now. One thing is sure; this isn't like negotiating a trade deal; lives are at stake, including our own.

I sure hope he knows what he is doing.

BTW as an old Sovietologist I know this won't frighten the Russians so much as make them angry - and feeling insecure. If the Wehrmacht didn't frighten them some words from Trump isn't going to. He has to be prepared to back it up with actions.

3 Well, you know that at my age I'm generally content to watch from a distance, not being able to move around a lot. But if backing up his words with action will be required, I think he'll be able to do it. Just don't expect it'll be where everyone else expects.

4 Agreed Dana. Trump will undoubtedly take action from an unlikely position. Ideally in a way that all out war doesn't break out.
