The Dying Ukraine

Bob Clasen

I am no fan of Putin. A Facebook friend posted this: For all I know it might be Russian propaganda. However, if it is true it paints a bleak picture of Ukraine.

"Ht Linda Traitz

"I just got back from Ukraine, where I was visiting some friends.

Everything we have heard about what’s happening in Ukraine is a lie.

The reality is darker, bleaker, and unequivocally hopeless. There is no such thing as Ukraine "winning" this war.

- By their estimates, they have lost over one million of their sons, fathers and husbands; an entire generation is gone.
- Even in the Southwest, where the anti-Russian sentiment is long-standing, citizens are reluctant or straight-up scared to publicly criticize Zelensky; they will go to jail.
- In every village and town, the streets, shops, and restaurants are mostly absent of men.
- The few men who remain are terrified of leaving their homes for fear of being kidnapped into conscription. Some have resorted to begging friends to break their legs to avoid service.
- Army search parties take place early in the morning, when men leave their homes to go to work. They ambush and kidnap them off the streets and within 3-4 hours they get listed in the army and taken away straight to the front lines with minimal or no training at all; it is "a death sentence."
- It's getting worse every day. Where I was staying, a dentist had just been taken by security forces on his way to work, leaving behind two small children. Every day, 3-5 dead bodies keep arriving from the front lines.
- Mothers and wives fight tooth and nail with the armed forces, beg and plead not to have their men taken away. They try bribing, which sometimes works, but most of the time they are met with physical violence and death threats.
- The territory celebrated as having been "won back" from Russia has been reduced to rubble and is uninhabitable. Regardless, there is no one left to live there and displaced families will likely never return.
- They see the way the war has been reported, at home and abroad. It's a "joke" and "propaganda." They say: "Look around: is this winning?”.
- Worse, some have been hoaxed into believing that once Ukrainians forces are exhausted, American soldiers will come in to replace them and "win the war”.

There is no ambiguity in these people. The war was for nothing - a travesty. The outcome always was, and is, clear. The people are hopeless, utterly destroyed, and living in an unending nightmare.

They are pleading for an end, any end - most likely the same "peace" that could have been achieved two years ago. In their minds, they have already lost, for their sons, fathers and husbands are gone, and their country has been destroyed. There is no "victory" that can change that.

Make no mistake, they are angry with Putin. But they are also angry with Zelensky and the West. They have lost everything, worst of all, hope and faith, and cannot comprehend why Zelenky wishes to continue the current trajectory, the one of human devastation.

I didn't witness the war; but what I saw was absolutely heart-breaking.

Shame on the people, regardless of their intentions, who have supported this war. And shame on the media for continuing to lie about it.”

@MariaMateiciuc”

It is difficult for us in the West to know the truth.

Tim adds:

Sadly I think much of it is true and I have not trusted any Western reporting on this. There never was any way the Ukrainians could win this without direct NATO involvement. All the numbers were against them. And Zelensky has suspended elections and suppressed dissent and done other things that are guaranteeing he remain in power.

Western media reports every engagement favorably for Ukraine to keep the cash flowing but I strongly suspect it is money down a rat hole.

The reason is that the Internationalists want to drain Russia dry and are willing to sacrifice the Ukrainian People to do it. They want to force Russia into the international order; now Russia is building an alternative to the so-called "Rules based order" and doesn't need the West. The international bankers and technocrats are absolutely determined to crash the Russian economy and usher in the global government and socialism advocated for by the WEF and others.

That does NOT make Putin a good guy or Russia anything. But it is merely the way that it is.

This war could have been prevented diplomatically before it ever broke out. And it could have been prevented by simply getting the price of oil down so Russia was defunded. And it could be resolved now if Zelensky was not demanding Russian surrender to even talk. That isn't going to happen.

But what's a few Ukrainians in the grand plans of Western elites?

Oh,BTW, we are hardening both the Russian and Ukrainian Peoples are they will become as hard as diamonds. That happened with the Albanians in the 1990's and now the Albanian Mafia is the hardest, meanest, most vicious organized crime syndicate in existence. They even took over the Sicilian Mafia. Russia already had a tough mafia and it will only metastazise.

And the bitterness between Russia and Ukraine will remain for a thousand years (as it has in the Balkans). And Ukraine will possibly be swallowed up by Muslim immigrants, the same who are swallowing Western Europe. The Ukrainians will need people to replace all those they have lost, after all, and since they are nosing around the EU will wnd up being a prime candidate for all the Islamic colonists. We are creating a problem that will last for generations.

1 Dare I say that Trump is right when he says this war would not have started if he had been in power? I, for one, believe he's correct.

2 I for two Daa. Trump would have done the things needed to keep this from happening. Putin wouldn't have dared attack, and the price of oil would have made it impossible anyway. This only happened because Putin saw how weak Biden was after Afghanistan and knew Biden would do nothing but  talk a good game.

3 Trump should make this one of his campaign points.

4 Dana, he probably will.

It'll be a huge selling point.

I was watching Scripps News this morning and they were discussing a possible rematch between Trump and Biden. Accoridng to polls they cite Trump is leading Biden by two points. I said to my wife "this is probably the Wilder Effect at work too" my point being that people still don't want to admit to pollsters they are voting Trump because he's been cast as a "bad person" by the media and many folks just don't want to admit they are voting for such a man.But they will when push comes to shove - just as they did in Iowa and New Hampshire. Despite all the  vaunted Independents in New Hampshire Trump walked away with it.

And  that was a Republican primary; the independents broke Trump in NH. I think it is what is to come around  the country in the general unless there is some sort of game-changer. That's what is going to happen, of course. Mr. Trump's health is in serious Jeapordy  if you ask me.

At any rate if Trump can stay focused on the economy and immigration he'll cream the Balloon Boy.
