The Best a Eunuch can get!

Jack Kemp

If some kid likes Kaepernick, everyone can see their new Nikes as a statement. If someone shaves with a Gillette razor at home, who will know it? But Gillette male customers and all others will be demeaned by this ad. This is beyond stupid.

If some soy boy uses a Gillette blade, who else knows? They can't even virtue signal with it. But they are still being called haters for being male. Dumbest ad idea ever.

Dana Mathewson adds:

All this crap about "toxic masculinity" -- and so many boys are raised by their mothers and have female school teachers. The problem is a LACK of masculinity. Some of you are old enough to remember when Gillette oozed masculinity. Remember the Gillette Cavalcade of Sports, where you'd tune your TV to watch boxing on Friday evenings? I remember watching those shows from a favorite restaurant/bar when I was a kid.

Bottom line: somebody at Gillette made a major blunder. Rule Number One in advertising: you don't insult your customer base. Somebody is going to be, or should be, out a job very soon. The home company, P&G, should see to this posthaste.

Selwyn Duke adds:

I started a Twitter page geared toward boycotting Gillette here: https://twitter.com/BoycottGillette

Fay Voshell adds:

I posted this on FB. So far, crickets. Most women I know really do think they are more virtuous than the horrible, toxic male side of the human equation. I am sick to death of hearing about toxic masculinity. People in general are toxic.

"I'd like to see equal time for religious/politically correct ads about toxic femininity. Women can be as "toxic" as men, committing equally bad sins, but most often in different, more hidden ways. This includes women in the church. But we don't hear about that much, do we? Maybe we should revisit the doctrine of original sin. As I understand it, sin affects both sexes equally."

Here are a few replies from the Twitter page:

The name of the misandristic feminist who created the ad is Kim Gehrig. Some complain that she's now being doxxed. By the way, who started the doxxing trend?

More from Gillette's statement: "From today on, we pledge to actively challenge the stereotypes and expectations of what it means to be a man everywhere you see Gillette. In the ads we run, the images we publish to social media, the words we choose, and so much more."

Statement from Gillette: "But turn on the news today and it’s easy to believe that men are not at their best. Many find themselves at a crossroads, caught between the past and a new era of masculinity." heavy.com/news/2019/01/k…

Surprise: Genius behind man-hating Gillette ad is a radical feminist americanthinker.com/blog/2019/01/s…So here's the reality: The ad, which bemoans the wrongs of men, was made by someone who hates men, and her ad actually constitutes the wronging of them.

Dana Mathewson adds:

William Katz, at Urgent Agenda, posted about the basic fiasco, and I am just sending his comments, with the link to the entire posting

COMMENT: What strikes me is the condescending tone. As a matter of fact, some of these new "executives" might learn their history. When I was growing up, many decades ago, correct and decent behavior toward women was taught in every middle-class household I knew. It was even taught in school in "health" classes.

Portrayals in movies were restrained under the old Production Code.

Coarse behavior toward women was frowned upon in any decent locale. I do not recall young men cursing in front of women, and I certainly do not recall women cursing.

If there has been a change downward, observers might consider the effect of the coarsening of society brought about by the 1960s and the aftermath. It is liberalism, overly generous "understanding" of "different cultures" that has led us to where we are, not some inherent badness in either men or women

I use a Braun electric, with a Gillette as an emergency backup. I will toss the Gillette.

I'm with him all the way. What we had, back in his (and my) day was called "bringing-up." Or "upbringing," if you prefer. Especially those of us who predated Dr. Spock. You began to see precursors of today's toxic environment when you went into stores and other commercial establishments and saw parents ignoring their children's loud, uncontrolled behavior -- the kind we would not have been allowed to get away with for two seconds.

Tim Birdnow adds:

Amen to that! Liberals systematically removed the societal constraints on bad behavior and now complain that men behave badly. Well, what did they expect? If you raise a man (or woman) to be a baboon why would you be surprised when he acts like one?

There were male and female rolls that were taught, and not just to kill everyone's fun. Those rolls had a specific purpose to maintain a civil and decent society. The Left doesn't want us to be ladies and gentleman, and especially for women to be ladies - the goal of feminism was largely to make women into men. Well, men always relied on ladies to keep them civil, and if women are now no longer ladies than civility is lost. OF COURSE there is toxic masculinity; the feminist women are the worst of them all in that regard.

That is what happens when you deny "binary sexes" as the Left does. Feminizing men only makes for less considerate, more aggressive males. Human biology asserts itself. We no longer master our instincts as per the Progressive plan, and when you don't master your urges and desires you wind up with exactly what they are now complaining about.
