Texas Gov. Abbott's Weak Response

This from Eric Chapman

I don't think the democrats fleeing TX have taken the vax like they say. THAT's misinformation about the Vaccine's effectiveness. There's a 98% chance they're lying and haven't taken the vaccine at all... The vax is exponentially better than what they're sickness rates say

May be an image of text that says '90% Population: TX Democrats Obstructing Government (Insurrectionists) 95%-96% True Probability: 5% TX TXDEMS DEMS WITH Covid- 19 4%-5% TXDEMS WITHOUT Covid- TXDEMS WITH Covid- 9 TXDEMS WITHOUT Covid-19 NORM.DIST(x, μ, TRUE) Statistical chance they're lying about taking the Vaccine 98.48% 10% x 5 Covid-19 Democrats 50 Total Democrats Fleeing 96% Advertised Vaccine Efficacy 0.028 σ'

I think Governor Abbott should declare a state of emergency, allow zoom voting and stipulate that Covid sickness allows for a vote without members there.

That if these people have internet access they're "present" for the quorum. Its totally valid and constitutional.
.. what if covid was 10 times worse and people were getting sick... government would/should shut down? It's an emergency like they say... I say give it to them.

Then, they'll have to have injury and be in the state to have standing in order to even sue him. They can't sue him in TX court being disenfranchised
in D.C.

They'd have to go back or sue in federal court... but federal court has no jurisdiction in state voting rules...thus, he can legally pass a quorum or they'll have to come back to stop him... like a chicken and egg thing.

He knows this. They don't want to fix shit

Tim adds:

I don't understand why these steps aren't being taken by Abbott and the GOP. The Democrats would never shrink from this.

1 I think this Chapman fellow is onto something! He's basically telling the renegades "You now have access to vote -- and no excuse for not utilizing it." He could also say "The absence of a vote will be interpreted as a "Yes" vote (or whichever way the Republicans want it to go)." But this is thinking way outside the box, and I don't think we can really fault Abbott for not picking up on it -- although a Democrat governor would if the situation was reversed.

2 Agreed Dana. Republicans are always afraid if they do something the Democrats will do it to them when they get in power. But the Democrats will do it whether the GOP did it to them or not, so why not go down swinging?

The GOP is full of cowards.
