Part III of my Trump/Russian collusion argument. See part II here.
James Doogue says:
Susan LonginetteI'm not sure you read the WAPO article if you think it provides any evidence, other than the headline, into collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia. The headline tantalisingly states: "...there really was collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia..." and then provides zero evidence of that. But it knows the mug reader will interpret what it does present as proof the Trump campaign colluded with Russia.
Before I get into showing up the WAPO articlke, bear in mind that if the anti-Trump forces were prepared to attempt to unseat him using the Ukraine phone call, and Trump's speech to supporters (as evidence of insurrection), other laughable, they would certainly have used evidence of Russian collusion.
So what does the WAPO article really offer?
It claimed "damning details of the extent of cooperation between the Trump campaign and Russian intelligence operatives."
So let's see what they were:
1. "that a longtime partner of Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort was, in fact, a Russian intelligence officer.â€
Even if this were true, it isn't evidence that there was collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia. There was no involvement of the Trump campaign mentioned AT ALL, regarding this evidence. There was just speculation that this alleged, not proven Russian operative, Konstantin Kilimnik , who had nothing to do with the Trump campaign, MAY have been involved in an also unproven plot to break into a Democratic Party computer.
The 'evidence' was all pure speculation supported by zero proof. Printed in WAPO and believed as fact by a gullible public.
Meanwhile, based on proven facts you'd impeach half the Democrats. Off the top of my head, and all the way from Australia, I can think of three major instances which should have lead to impeachment of senior Democrats.
- The vice chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee and a ranking member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) had a Communist Chinese spy in her office. A 20-year employee of Feinstein’s, the agent had been reporting back to China’s Ministry of State Security for well over a decade before he was caught in 2013, according to the FBI.
That employee was Russell Lowe who worked for 20 years in Feinstein’s San Francisco office, where he was a staff liaison to the Asian-American community before leaving approximately five years ago.
- A report from the FBI in December last year, "On Friday the FBI briefed GOP Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and House Speaker Pelosi on Swalwell’s relationship with the Chinse spy Fang Fang."
Swalwell currently sits on the House Intelligence Committee and has access to some of the nation’s most highly classified information.
Fang was a "bundler†for Eric Swalwell and other Democrat candidates but it was also believed the Chinese spy and honeypot had an intimate relationship with Swalwell.
"The FBI also briefed congressional leaders on the details of Fang Fang’s interactions with lawmakers on behalf of communist China.â€
- "I have never spoken to my son about his overseas business dealings,†Biden claimed in September 2019 while campaigning in Iowa.
Since the release of the Hunter Biden emails from his laptop. A story successfully suppressed by mainstream media and big Tech before the election, we know that isn't true. There are undisputed emails showing Biden's meetings with a Ukrainian businessman and involvement with Chinese deals.
Neither Joe Biden nor his campaign specifically disputed the authenticity of underlying facts discussed in any of the texts, e-mails, and contracts disclosed from the laptop, or by Tony Bobulinski, a retired Navy lieutenant, who was the CEO of SinoHawk, a joint venture between the Biden family and a CCP controlled entity. Instead, the Biden campaign claimed, without evidence, that the Russians are responsible for Hunter Biden’s business partner and a Biden family insider releasing evidence of Joe Biden’s participation in Hunter’s overseas business dealings.
2. the WAPO article also stated about the committee's report, "It offers new proof that former national security adviser Michael Flynn lied about his conversations with the Russia’s ambassador to the United States,"
What seems to have been forgotten in all of this regarding Mike Flynn is:
- There was nothing illegal about him talking to the Russian Ambassador. He was legally entitled to do so as the incoming NSI.
- The conversation was recorded by the FBI and there was nothing illegal said by Flynn.
- The FBI illegally set out to trap Flynn in a lie so that he could be changed with lying to the FBI even though the lie was not materially relevant to anything. Flynn pleased guilty because the FBI threatened to put his family and friends through the wringer if he didn't.
We all know that in the US, even if you are innocent Justice can be very expensive. Flynn lied because he saw no reason to discuss his phone call with the Russian Ambassador since it wasn't relevant to the reason the FBI have for talking with him in the first place.
Also remember that the FBI got the FISA warrant to listen in on the phone conversation based on the fake Steele dossier. In any other area of law, any evidence gathered under an illegally gained warrant would be poisoned and inadmissible.
Regardless of the technicalities of the matter - still no proof of collusion with the Russians to change the election out come. Particularly because this phone call happened AFTER the election.
There were no damning details of any collusion in that article, yet you putting that forward as your proof Susan. That demonstrates very clearly you aren't actually looking for facts. Just cheerleaders for your beliefs.
Susan Longinettewith regards your comments regarding taxes. Again, you are simply repeating the Democrat line. If there was any known illegality regarding Trump's tax affairs, it would have been leaked and pursued by the Establishment who hate Trump.
Property valuations are altered all the time due to market conditions both up and down. there's no illegality in that.
Your statement that he paid no Federal taxes is naive. You are being deliberately manipulated by the media who know the general public don't understand taxes.
If Trump has already paid hundreds of millions in taxes in prior years, then he has one business Enterprise which has been under administration for years come out of administration with massive write-downs dating back to prior years, Trump is entitled to re-submit prior years Tax returns. This is essentially what he did.
The IRS has agreed but it's been sitting with the Senate Joint Committee for approval.
If Trump has losses from prior years to carry forward, he won't pay any more Federal taxes.
There have been years when I don't pay taxes after submitting my returns. That's because I have tax credits from tax paid during the year, or I have carried forward losses, or approved write - downs.
The media can't claim they know for sure Trump is cheating on his taxes. But then explain how come he isn't being prosecuted by the IRS.
It is clear you are arguing with what you think you know, not what you know Susan. You need to be far more sceptical and do much better research.

Susan, I know you won't like Fox News. But you wouldn't have seen it anywhere else. Here are the sworn evidence statements from all the major players who claimed to have evidence of Russia Collusion.
When under oath, they all admitted they had ZERO evidence including Adam Schiff, Jim Clapper, Samantha Power, Susan Rice, Loretta Lynch, who claimed many times that there was irrefutable evidence Trump colluded with the Russians.
https://
I add:
Susan, another point to ponder; of the 34 people indicted by the Mueller probe, all were indiccted on process crimes (perjury traps) or ancilliary things that were discovered during the investigation (most notably Manafort, who was pretty corrupt.) https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/breakdown-indictments-cases-muellers-probe/story?id=61219489None were ever accused of espionage or anything improper having to do with the original investigation. Msny of them foreign were nationals (thirteen were Russians, and of the 13 only ONE was believed to be a spy.) One was a Dutch businessman accused of lying to investigators. Now, if you are aggressive enough in D.C. you could swing a dead cat and find this many people lying about something. If we are to indict people for lying to authorities in that town we would lock up the whole city. The only really dirty guy was Paul Manafort, and HE was not involved with the Russians in any sort of electoral fraud, just old fashioned graft.
So why did the FBI stage perjury traps for Michael Flynn and George Popodopoulis? Both were caught in classic perjury traps. Flynn did not even know he was being interviewed; he thought he was having a chat. The investigators at the time even said they didn't think he was purposely lying. But they went after him anyway and destroyed him. Popodopoulis was set up by the Australians. He was a bit player in the Trump machine and was invited to meet the Australian Ambassador, who then began telling him they had dirty on Hillary. He did what any young, inexperienced person would do; listened politely. They then used that to prosecute him and sent him to jail in an effort to get him to "flip". There was nothing to flip about.
And the Russians who were prosecuted were largely prosecuted for the DNC hack. Well, what was that? We don't know because the DNC hired a private firm (owned by a Russian born American citizen) and did not allow the FBI or anyone else except this company Crowdstrike paid by them to investigate the server. (And don't forget the Democrats had foreign nationals running their computers, and these guys had to flee the country. https://freebeacon.com/national-security/house-dems-paid-4-million-pakistani-it-professionals-now-under-criminal-investigation/)
It should be pointed out it was Hillary who was up to her eyeballs with the Russians, be it the Uranium One deal or the big bucks Bill Clinton was getting for giving short speeches in Russia.
Which brings us to the Five Eyes. Since it is illegal to spy on American citizens the Obama Administration used a loophole, getting intelligence from the "Five Eyes" countries with which we share information. MI5, the British spy agency, ran ops on Trump. They were spying on Trump as early as late 2015. (This is entirely in character for the Obama Administration, which was infamous for spying on our allies. https://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2013/10/29/241576536/report-obama-white-house-okd-spying-on-other-leaders) When Mr. Trump said his phones were tapped and he was being spied on your media and Democratic friends sneered at him, but it turns out he was absolutely correct. The FBI had obtained a FISA warrant on the strength of the fake Clinton Steele Dossier and used that to justify spying on Hillary's main opponent.
Which brings us back to your Senate Intel Committee report. Why wasn't anyone charged with espionage? Do you really think Bill Barr would have, could have stopped that? For that matter, and this is critical, why wasn't Trump informed that the Russians were trying to penetrate his organization? That is normally how it would have been done; they would have informed him of contacts between people he hired and Russian agents. They did not such thing. Instead they used this to justify spying on him.
That strongly suggests this was political from the very beginning.
(I would point out that Chinese spies have worked for key Democrats, most notably Dianne Feinstein and a member of the House Intelligence Committee Eric Swalwell, who isSTILL ON THAT SENSITIVE COMMITTEE despite sleeping with the enemy (literally). https://townhall.com/tipsheet/katiepavlich/2020/12/08/a-chinese-spy-infiltrated-a-number-of-democrat-campaigns-and-raised-money-for-them-n2581210
So explain to me what Lisa Page and Peter Strzok meant when Page said to her adultrous lover (and fellow FBI agent) that she feared Trump would win and Strzok said "Don't worry; we won't let that happen"? https://www.foxnews.com/politics/read-fbis-strzok-page-texts-about-trump That is rather hard to spin Susan. See more texts from the adulterous couple here. https://redstate.com/elizabeth-vaughn/2020/05/05/undercover-huber-shares-newly-revealed-texts-n136320 It was clear there was a group of people in the FBI who were actively working to meddle in the U.S. election. And given James Comey's subsequent behavior that is fairly obvious. Ditto the DOJ, where they badgered the feckless Jeff Sessions into recusing himself from the probe and Rod Rosenstein ran the investigation - and was caught on tape suggesting they tape Trump to frame him and use the 25th Amendment to remove him from office. And don't even get me started on John Brennan at the CIA.
And they pulled little tricks like this: https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2020/aug/16/fbi-declassified-documents-trump-russia-probe-reve/
"On one occasion, an FBI agent showed up at the official intelligence briefing given to then-candidate Donald Trump, but the agent’s concealed purpose was to see whether Mr. Trump would make an "admission†in its Russia probe, a government report said."
End quote.
So they were STILL spying on Trump.
Do you really believe these people were pure as the wind-driven snow? That they didn't take steps to prevent Trump from winning (and possibly actually draining the Swamp as he promised)? America built the biggest, most powerful spy apparatus in human history, and it just keeps getting bigger as each new crisis develops (the Cold War, the War on Drugs, the War on Terror.) Do you really think that this enormous machine just sits idly by? Most of this machine favors the Democrats, I might add, as they are beholden to taxpayer dollars for their living and want their power to grow, which wouldn't happen under a Trump Presidency.
Now, let me ask a big picture question; why would the Russians have favored Trump over Clinton? Russia's economy is entirely predicated on her production of oil and gas, and Putin's grand strategy had been to be the sole provider of energy to Europe. Trump was a clear and present danger to that strategy; he wanted fracking, and lots of it. He wanted to pull us out of the Paris Accord. He wanted to reduce the influence of Iran in terms of oil. On this basis alone the Russians had every reason to support Hillary, who wanted to drive the price of energy up and reduce the consumption of fossile fuels. The Russians also had a stretegy to weaken America through endless brushfire wars. This went back to the old Soviet days, I might add. And what were we doing? We had troops all over the world under Obama (and Bush before him). Trump wanted to wind these wars down. That was not good for the Russians, who needed us squandering our wealth and power. Oh, and by our fighting radical Islamists the Russians didn't have to.
Trump wanted to make the Europeans do more for their own security, which meant a stronger Germany, something they can't abide. Trump was squeezing China, a strategic Russian partner. Trump was providing military aid to the Ukrainians to resist the Russian invasion. https://www.defensenews.com/congress/2019/09/25/what-you-need-to-know-about-the-us-aid-package-to-ukraine-that-trump-delayed/ This is something Obama never did - and Joe Biden threatened to withhold if the Ukrainians didn't stop investigating his son.
From any angle the Russians had no reason to want Trump. Given their past contacts with Hillary they had every reason to want Mrs. Clinton.
So there was no motive, except perhaps to sow chaos and paralyze the incoming President - which the Democrats and media did nicely.
In the end the Senate Intel Committee report is much sound and fury signifying nothing. Nobody went to jail. There was no attempt to impeach Trump over this. The report itself concluded Trump was not involved. And the Senate Intelligence Committee attempted to create a bipartisan document, and had to finger point to satisfy the Democrats on the committee. There clearly was no attempt to prosecute anybody for crimes related to this. And, frankly, if the government had this information WHY DIDN'T THEY GO TO TRUMP ABOUT IT. They didn't do that, preferring to spy on him. Why? And if the GOP has been protecting Trump as you assert, why did they allow this document to go forward? The Demcorats would never have done that had it been their guy.
