How do you know you are in a Jewish neighborhood?

By all the Chinese restaurants there.

I read a gag somewhere or other, years ago, to the effect that the Jews predate the Chinese by somewhere around a thousand years, so what did the Jews eat on the Sabbath for those first thousand years?
