Business activity in New York state declined sharply and unexpectedly in May, a report from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York showed Monday.

The New York Fed’s Empire State survey of manufacturing showed business activity plunged. The index of general business conditions fell 36.2 points to a negative reading of 11.6 in May.

2 Speaking of "leaving today," you might want to consider finding a new web host. I get a failure to connect ("could not find") to your website about 15% of the time. Virtually never happens with any other blog I visit on a regular basis.

3  Bill I also have trouble connecting. What I found is that selecting another region on my Norton VPN corrects the issue. This is the only site I have had issues with as well.

5 Bill, Mike, sorry you guys have problems with the technology. I use an old, old version of the Mee.nu software. It's the only thing that works with my decrepit equipment. I used to be with Eblogger, and also had my own site via Wordpress. I've always favored this site (the same as used by Ace of Spades) and have been here since around 2010. Pixie Misa keeps the site working for me (and probably specifically for me) and for a price I can afford so I'm grateful. If I did what you say I would probably run a mirror site (which is what I did when I had the Wordpress site.)

7 When I have trouble connecting -- which is every few weeks or so -- I go to my browser settings and dump cookies and browsing data. That USUALLY works.
