I didn't read the article because "5 Thousand Tons" is not a "Battleship." My submarine displaced 1800 tons and was a very small ship. The Arleigh Burke class destroyer displaces 8000 tons to 9000 tons depending on configuration. The USS Missouri, which actually is a battleship, displaces 40,800 tons.

Bill is right. The ship was more along the lines of an LST. There is also some questioning if it was the Ukrainians or an accident that caused the sinking.
