Sophie's Choice

Timothy Birdnow

The woman who showed up at Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh's home to kill him has been given just 8 years in prison.

Justice Brett Kavanaugh's would-be assassin sentenced to 8 years

The judge in the case credits the convicted felon - Sophie Roske - with turning herself/himself in. {S}he is also sentenced to lifetime probation after.

The article describes Roske as a man but with a woman's name. What does that tell us class?

There is no mention of who appointed the judge, -District Judge Deborah Boardman - which suggests it was either Joe Biden or Barack Hussein Obama (mmm, mmm, mmmmmmmmm!)

Prosecutors sought at minimum thirty years for the would-be assassin.

In eight years he can get out of prison and finish the job, in all likelihood.

At any rate we have yet another soft-on-crime judge letting someone off easy. Someone who made a dry run on a Supreme Court Justice.

Dry run indeed; I suspect this was a warning to the members of SCOTUS to send a message. The Left didn't want a martyr; they wanted to strike fear into the conservatives on the bench. A dry run is much more effective for that. And this person could then use mental disorder as a defense and provide an exculpatory surrender to the authorities. He'll be out in probably four years or less, and no doubt have a pile of cash waiting on the outside.

Has anyone interviewed Roske about possible connections? I suspect the FBI hasn't bothered. I do not trust anything in our political landscape anymore.

That is why prosecutors were seeking a thirty year sentence; they had to make it plain to the world that America would not tolerate assassination attempts. But then this soft-on-crime slime judge had different plans, apparently.

I get cutting his sentence a bit for cooperating, but by 22 years?

This whole thing stinks of a setup by the Left.

2 Indeed so. This heshe will probably come out to a nice job waiting and a book deal and who knows what other goodies.

3 It's nowhere near long enough but at least it's long enough that he/she will have some time in the cooler to think about it. And let's hope no publisher would touch a book deal. Although when you look at some of the books being written and (presumably) bought these days, that's a forlorn hope.
