Smoke Gets in Your Eyes

Canada has launched an envoronmental attack on the U.S., no doubt in retaliaton for Trump's tariffs, and The Great White Dopes in Ottawa don't seem to care!
Of course I'm kidding.
Massive wildfires are befouling the atmosphere with Canadian smoke (the worst kind) and it is both darkening Americna skies and aggravating American lungs. I should know; I've been coughing and producing phlegm all weekend now. Sleeping a lot too.
So why is this happening? I suspect Canada, in the grips of the left now for a decade now, has made it illegal to remove deadwood.
According to SOR 94 118)
You have to purchase a permit to remove ANY wood from "crown land". and this has been ongoing since 1994,even through some conservative administrations.Some Provinces allow limited harvesting of deadwood, but most of them (like Ontario) don't allow it at all.
So no doubt this is a coefficient of the Gang-Green rules imposed upon our nortthern nutter brothers.
When dead timber builds up firest ensue.
Oh, did I mention that 80% of all firefighting equiopment in Canada comes from the U.S.? How's that tariff war working out for you Canucks now, eh?

Prohibition. 5 (1) Subject to subsection (2), no person shall cut and remove timber in a forest area except under the authority of a permit issued by a forestry officer pursuant to section 7 or an agreement entered into with the Minister under section 14.
