In the latest fake news, the Atlantic claims Donald Trump said Americans who died in war are "losers and suckers".
Who is stupid enough to believe that? If it were Biden or Backstroke Harris maybe...
I think we all know who the "suckers" and "losers" really are.
John Bolton rebutted this already.
On Facebook a commenter named Susan Phillips gave us these pertinent quotes:
Jordan Karem, the president's former body man, tweeted: "Again, this is 100% false. I was next to @POTUS the whole day! The President was greatly disappointed when told we couldn't fly there. He was incredibly eager to honor our Fallen Heroes."
Deputy Chief of Staff Dan Scavino tweeted, "I was with POTUS in France . . . Complete lies by 'anonymous sources.'"
According to a Fox News article:
"Trump rejected the idea of the visit because he feared his hair would become disheveled in the rain, and because he did not believe it important to honor American war dead," Goldberg wrote.
Goldberg also claimed Trump labeled as losers Marines who died at the Battle of Belleau Wood during World War I. Referring to the war, Trump allegedly asked:"Who were the good guys in this war?â€
"He also said that he didn’t understand why the United States would intervene on the side of the Allies," Goldberg said, framing the remarks as "contempt" for American servicemembers."End quote.
So, thinking WWI was a bad idea is somehow anti-troop? I think it was a bad idea and I support our troops. It was Woodrow Wilson's scheme to impose world government by "making the world safe for Democracy" after having campaigned as the man who "kept us out of war".
WWI was a war between colonial empires, and we had no dog in that fight. The British were boarding America ships, so Germany was not the only provocateurs. And the Lusitania was warned in advance in accordance with American demands (and a lot of thrill seekers boarded her for that reason.) Also, the Lusitania was likely carrying munitions in violation of international law.
Williams Jennings Bryan, then Secretary of State, quit the cabinet in disgust complaining that Wilson was absolutely biased in favor of Britain.
It was a stupid war. But it served Wilson's purposes. I would point out Wilson was the proto-fascist; Mussolini was a great admirer of his and said he modeled his Fascism on Wilson's program.
Trump probably meant that and said so but the Atlantic is digging for any dirt they can use to tar him.
We need to have a law holding media outlets accountable for "anonymously sourced" stories. They are nothing but libel and slander. Any story citing anonymous sources should be subject to civil lawsuits, being considered evidence of ill-intent.

The Media and Democrats are, of course, trying to sever ties between Trump and the military people. They a. don't want him voting for them and perhaps b.don't want them on his side if they try to seize power. More and more I'm starting to believe they really might try if they lose. It was a crazy idea just eight years ago, but now it seems plausible to me. Not likely but plausible.
They certainly are going to try to STEAL the Presidency; of that there is no doubt.

I really think the Democrats are into the "We've got to throw everything we have against the wall and hope something sticks."

There has to be a point where the count in the EC is unassailable, right?

If it is a deluge (more than a landslide) they won't be able to steal this - or will they? At this point we have to wonder.
Conservative HQ offers a plausible scenario where they steal this election, Dana. It's scary.
