Raging RINO Roy Blunt has announced he won't run for re-election to the U.S. Senate.

Great news! I was going to vote against the dope if he did.

Blunt was reasonably conservative when he was in the House but he turned RINO once he got in the Senate and they put him in leadership. By the time he left he was indistinguishable from Mitch McConnell.

I think that's why he is leaving; he suspected a tough primary challenge, possibly from former Governor Eric Greitens, who has expressed an interest in running for the Senate (and roiling the entire GOP in Missouri if he does.) Blunt really can't defend himself to the base of the Party and so I think he did what he does best; ran from trouble and into hiding.

Good riddence!

Unfortunately there really aren't any good Missouri conservatives to run for his seat. We may well lose it to a Democrat.

But I'm tired of voting just because someone has an R behind their name. Blunt was a POS, plain and simple, and his leaving is welcome. Maybe we'll lose the seat, but at least it's one fewer RINO to have to battle for the soul of the GOP.
