A recession coming? Who says?
There are three polls conducted by Rasmussen that would argue otherwise. They are Consumer Spending Update:Economic Confidence Steadies, Still Near All-Time Highs, [;oml=http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/business/consumer_spending_update/consumer_spending_update_a_giant_leap_in_consumer_confidence]Consumer Spending Update: A Giant Leap in Consumer Confidence, and Americans Owe Less, Worry Less[About Rising Interest Rates[/link].
It doesn't sound like the American People are buying it.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that
just 19% of American Adults say they owe more money than they did a
year ago. This compares to 34% five years ago and is the lowest finding in surveying since early 2009.
Thirty-seven percent (37%) say they owe less than they did last year at
this time, while 39% say their level of debt is about the same.
And from the second:
Enthusiasm about the economy started to grow immediately following
Donald Trump's election as president in November 2016 and spiked to
145.9 in February 2018. By comparison, in President Obama’s final years
in office, this index reached a high of 121.5 in January 2015 and was
at 108.1 his last month in the White House.
