Oh boo-hoo!

So she's mad the state was unable to finish her off. She should be thanking them for screwing up and saving her worthless life; she now has a chance to find salvation for her soul, which would be lost otherwise. Hell is suffering eternal and she managed to cheat that for at least a short while.

A botched execution gave her a second chance at escaping damnation; she should be grateful and thank God.

Pike, you may remember, murdered a romantic rival with a torture fest and satanic invocations. If anyone deserved the death penalty it was she. That she was in her late teens is immaterial. 

I see no signs she took advantage of her time incarcerated to make amends or repent of the evil she promulgated. Satan never keeps any bargains and I suppose she expected him to go to her rescue. Fat chance.
