Once Again I Will Shake the Heavens and the Earth

That's how it felt to me too. I was in my father's room at the nursing home he is temporarily living in and was struck by it like an electric shock. I wasn't born yet when Kennedy was assassinated but that is what I hear everyone felt then.

I know; Kirk was just an activist (like the Reverend Dr.Martin Luther King) and not President (or Attorney General) but everyone could feel the impact of this good man and his death was more than just a basic murder. It suggested something fundamental was changing in America.
I am mindful of the Book of Revelations where it said the martyrs were waiting "that their number should be complete" after which the plagues of the apocalypse would come. Was Charlie the last martyr? Maybe that's why it has shaken the whole nation.

It would be great if there were no more martyrs after Charlie, but I fear the Left has got the bit in its teeth and will continue to slaughter more of us unless we are lucky in preventing it. The Left is unwilling to debate us and very poor at doing so when they try, so they just try to shut us down instead.

I agree. They thought they were at the point of victory too and their defeat by Trump and MAGA has left them with no illusions on THAT score. Many of them see violence as the only option at this point.
