Report: How Obama Weaseled Out of a Damning Subpoena in Blagojevich Corruption Case
From the article:
Blagojevich was accused – and convicted – of trying to "sell†the vacated U.S. Senate seat in Illinois that was once held by then-President Barack Obama.
However, the governor’s defense team had an "ace in the hole.†They planned to subpoena Obama as a star witness.
"First, Mr. Obama contradicts the testimony of an important government witness,†the lawyer’s motion read.
"Second, President Obama’s testimony is relevant to the necessary element of intent of the defendant.
"Intent of the defendant….†Yikes, sounds damning.
Lastly, the defense lawyers said, "President Obama is the only one who can say if emissaries were sent on his behalf, who those emissaries were, and what, if anything, those emissaries were instructed to do on his behalf.â€
We know what that was. Obama wanted that seat for his Au Pair Valerie Jarrett and Blago didn't want to just give the seat away for Obama's gratitude. So the BHO saw to it that Rod the Clod wound up doing serious time. The article continues:
But President Obama managed to weasel his way out of that mess and avoided being dragged into the scandal thanks to an "internal investigation†by his own people.
Give me a break.
After an internal report by Obama’s own lawyers cleared the president, a judge ultimatelyshot downthe motion.
For Obama, it was a perfect scenario. Blagojevich was convicted and sentenced to prison, taking the fall for the scandal. Any discussion about Obama’s involvement, which was seemingly so minimal that a court refused to subpoena him, could safely be declared a right-wing conspiracy.
That is, until President Donald Trumpcommuted Blagojevich’s sentenceTuesday.
Redactions in Blagojevich’s original motion seem to hint Obama was more involved than he let on.
Theclaimslink Obama to a convicted fraudster, a quid pro quo scheme and secret phone calls. If this subpoena had been granted 10 years ago, there’s a good chance we would know a great deal more than we do now.
It’s unclear what plans, if any, Blagojevich has to revisit the 2010 trial and subpoena request. [Western Journal]
This sounds like a massive scandal that could have Obama’s fingerprints all over it.
Indeed it does and I've never doubted the President got the Illinois Governor put away - and for so long.In essence, Blagoyavitch was a lying, scheming, corrupt weasel, but no more so than any other political hack from Illinois. He's been largely a political prisoner, held in detention because His Highness was angry he wouldn't play ball.
I would LOVE to see Obama investigated; there are so many dirty undies in that pile of laundry. But nobody ever will because Obama was the first black President and nobody wants to admit he was corrupt or a failure.

As far as Blago, yes, he was corrupt -- one can't make it in Illinois politics if one isn't -- but I remember him as pretty much a breath of fresh air. He was pretty up-front about his corruption and IIRC, he seemed surprised that anybody made a big deal over what he wanted to do.
