I have an ex-Army friend who lives now in Cleveland, who owns a Tesla and for some crazy reason is trying to talk everybody into buying one. I haven't been on the phone with him very much, but he DID try the "well, how about not having the oil changes" ploy on me. My cars are turbo-charged and therefore need full synthetic oil, but they go a good 6,000+ miles between changes, and the one I drive doesn't get used all that much, so that argument goes nowhere.
MY argument to him is "How long does it take you to fill up?" This dude lives in Cleveland and has to go to Walter Reed for health care two or three times a year. I would HATE to do that with an EV! I admit I haven't asked him about it yet, because frankly he's hard to talk to about anything (on top of everything else he's a conspiracy freak). I really must call him some day, though, and bite the bullet.

Oil changes are easy next to the crap you have to put up with with an EV. Charging is a prime example. If your battery goes out you are stranded, and if you have to replace them broke. And resale value is horrible.
I know guys like that Dana.

There isn't enough room here to list every negative thing about those tin toys, frankly.
