1 No indeed. I'd just add that in what's probably classed as "south-central" Minnesota, we woke up to -17 degrees today (New Year's Day) and it didn't get above zero all day. I really wish this global warming thing would catch on...

2 Yikes!  We had a cold day yesterday - in the forties!  I couldn't handle a place with minus seventeen!  Experienced that once or twice (well, minust eight or ten) and found it horrible.

3 Well, I have to say it was not really a problem. My dog (wearing his boots) and I had a nice morning walk. And afternoon walk too. There was NO wind, so we were barely conscious of the low temperature.

Luckily, we don't depend on our local electricity to be provided by wind turbines, though!

4 It got down into the teens last night, but was still in the thirties during the day. This is as cold as it gets here.

Yes, without wind you can stand a lot of cold.

Many years ago I worked in a grocery store and we had to do inventory in the deep freezer. It was ten below. Entirely baarable for a while because there was no wind. But after a while it was pretty horrid.

I HATED doing inventory in there.

BTW I imagine your dog doesn't fight much with your putting the boots and sweater on him these days.
