NASCAR Goes Woke

This from Burl Queen:

KUDOS To The Fort Worth Police Who Refused NASCAR's Request To Arrest Disabled & Wounded Officers At The Fort Worth, Texas NASCAR Race Even Through The Wounded In Action Officers Were Invited By NASCAR Driver Angela Ruch For A Photo OP With Her Vehicle "The Wounded Blue" Which Has 120 Names Of Fallen Officers Etched On Her NASCAR Vehicle....
At The Same Time NASCAR Has Bent Over Backwards Supporting BLM!

NASCAR Kicks Out Disabled Wounded Police Officers, Threatens with Arrest

Tim adds:

Et tu, NASCAR? The last bastion of conservative rural Americans.

Who is driving this? It's not the fans. There are powerful forces at work here.

1 I think NASCAR is behaving idiotically with their symbolic banning of the Confederate battle flag in order that people who are not attending their races and not paying money to view NASCAR events will not suffer from hurt feelings, and performing dramatic unison marches with their token single black driver over a noose which wasn’t a noose and which was in his garage before he was.

That being said, the "Disabled & Wounded Officers,” whether "invited by Angela Ruch” or not, were in an area not open to the public and for which they did not have permits. They asked permission to enter the area, were denied that permission, entered it without permission and were escorted out by police just as anyone else would have been.

NASCAR may be a bit stupid, but they are not the vicious bullies which the citation and your reporting make them out to be. The "Disabled & Wounded Officers” were in the wrong and NASCAR’s action was entirely correct and proper.

2 Agreed Bill, but it is inexcusable that NASCAR pushed this thing. It's an example of how they are more interested in pleasing sponsors than in pleasing their fans. Of course this didn't make the news; I looked for it on Google.  But it bespeaks a new attitude by NASCAR that is clearly joining the bandwagon. I don't like it at all.
