NASCAR Goes Electric

NASCAR continues its slide into oblivion as it goes increasingly politically correct - this time with electric race cars.
Fans are not pleased to put it mildly.
Who wants to watch go-carts humming quietly around the track at 55 mph? And what happens when they run out of juice? Will there be a two hour break for "refueling?"

Electric race cars will go a helluva lot faster than 55 mph, trust me; but when they run into each other, as race cars often do, there will be hell to pay! Batteries will explode and drivers will die!

I dunno Dana; EV's are certainly heavier than gas-powered vehicles.

If I were a NASCAR driver, and entered into a race, and told there'd be an EV on the track, I'd say "Not with me on the track, no way!" Too dangerous!

That's what needs to happen. We've got to stop bowing to this crap.

Indycar is even worse. They introduced their "hybrid power unit," after 2-1/2 years of development, last week on a road course at Mid-Ohio. The electric power unit delivers a burst of 60hp for 4 seconds. Yes, 4 seconds, and they can use it only one time per lap.
